Freida Pinto to Make her Bollywood Debut[Mid-Day Report]
Source: MID DAY Freida Pinto became an overnight sensation after her first film Slumdog Millionaire won a bevy of international awards, be it the BAFTAs or the Academy Awards. The actress went on to star alongside Hollywood hottie James Franco and even inked a film with Woody Allen. But what remained on everyone’s mind is when she would actually sign a Bollywood film. Looks like Freida is gearing up for her first Bollywood film. And according to sources, Udaan Director Vikramaditya Motwane and Navdeep Singh have been working on a script that they have offered to her. A source says, “While her films abroad haven’t really worked wonders for her career, she has managed to stay in the spotlight thanks to her immaculate dressing sense and her so-called exotic looks. But this film could change her fortunes.” Earlier apparently, Shoojit Sircar had approached Freida for his upcoming John Abraham starrer. Our sources add that Motwane asked his friend Navdeep (Manorama Six Feet Under) to make a film for his production house. We hear that the film will be heroine-oriented and the script has been penned by Navdeep. A source close to Freida says, “Both Vikram and Navdeep felt that Freida would suit the role. She has liked the script and will take a call soon.” While he doesn’t deny the buzz, all that Navdeep says is, “It is too early to comment.”

Freida story is not a cinderlla Story dear. Her rise to fame is a la Kim Kardashian. She has no talent and is famous for the sake of being famoous.
Freida is a 'private' celeb? Gimie Break. Nobody is really intrested in Hollywood. She isn't headline material. No other starlet are intrested in hanging out with Freida because they are not simply intreseted in her.
She is okay in looks and bad in acting. I wouldn't call her a huge succes. She is not. Shes hardly has any fans and is not a household name in usa and canada.
I really wish Frieda wouldn't do a Bollywood movie. I wouldn't say that she is unsuccessful overseas. People here still go gaga over her. She is just playing the role of being "private", and it's killing her career. I never see her hanging out with any of the other Hollywood starlets. I never see her at any parties. Jesus girl fire your agent! Get some acting classes. I really love Frieda and her Cinderella story. I hope she makes it both in India and over seas. The she will be a force to be reckoned with.

Having just read the comments below I see the only thing that has changed is 12 to 13, Aishwarya will still be dragged into every PV conversation no matter what.

I have nothing against her, in fact Freida is very likeable, but I don't think she is a particularly competent actress. She hasn't impressed me in her Hollywood films. She is very lucky to get this offer - none of the actresses from the younger lot who have been working in Bollywood for a few years have had such an opportunity. But heck if names like Motwane believe Freida can do it, then, who are we to judge? I look forward to the film with or without Freida.

It's a little irritating that she's getting heroine-centric film offers, while women who have been in Bollywood for years are reduced to props. She's never done a Hindi film, there's no telling how she'll be able to perform. They're offering it to her based on the fact that she's supposedly famous in the West, but the thing is...she's really not THAT famous? I'm just saying, if she had showed up for auditions for these producers BEFORE slumdog, she never would have gotten work.
in the beginning she was arrogant about bollywood. now after her career didn't go anywhere in the west and she didn't get good reviews about her acting skills she considers bollywood. hmm, freida you should have considered this saying in the first place:

well said however it suits aishwarya rai bachcan more than frieda but yeah money can buy everything fame, a surname, awards,a jury seat, ambassdres work,headlines....and many more
otherwise it wouldnt be possible that someone ordinary like arb would be an actress with rolling eyes,faking innocent face ,climbing steep cliffs with eyeliners , getting wet with lipliners so ridiculous snapshots from her movies which shows lack of talent and reality thats why she is still nothing abroad other than pretty loreal guest at cannes,lovely longines ambassador and daily talk show title with arranged awards and organisation she is really epitome of luck
freida can never be successful inside india because she doesnt play fair and lovely game like most bollywood actresses including miss worlds
our indian society wants to see whitened brown face which is the dream of each and every indian girl/woman so they will never support a brown indian on the international platform who shows the world indians are brown but the society love to support bleach queens because on the international platform they try hard to show the world indians are not as dark as they are portrayed
inside bollywood success doesnt depend on talent and acting specialities
it depends on how you whiten your dark face and then act like the most beautiful the most natural lady despite having loads of surgeries
the clear evidence of it frieda pinto soicety hates her whereas the same soicety adores brown aishwarya rai who never steps out without proper amount of white makeup who pretends being natural lady whereas her face is full of subtle jobs anwyays as i said freida you had better never try in bollywood you will fail because there talent not working....an effective PR,media controversies and white makeup extreme photoshops under the tag of hq and prestigious contacts is all that you need if you want to be top in india
i didn't think much of her as an actress till i saw trishna. she was great in it, and it was a powerful movie. ebert gave it a very high rating too
