Heroine takes a dig at Katrina Kaif ?
So according to many leading websites, there is a scene in Heroine where Kareena Kapoor, playing actress Mahi, is questioned by journalists. One of them asked her to comment about a foreign actress who has been experiencing a successful career in Bollywood.

@fmlreally i have to disagree with you on your statement: "Also look at any other film industry, you will not find a person of color playing a role meant for a white person." case in point is whoopi goldberg. she has played in several lead roles that were meant for white women because she is such a good actress she got the part. some of the movies were jumping jack flash, sister act, ghost, & a few others. the same can be said with the 80s sitcom saved by the bell with lark who played the actress lisa. that role was meant for a jewish white girl but a black girl won the part.

AND AS MADHUR AND KAREENA IN AN INTERVIEW SAID THAT THE FILM IS BASED ON WHAT HAPPENS IN BOLLYWOOD. SOME TRUE INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN PORTRAYED IN THE FILM.

I can't blame Katrina for taking advantage of the system in India, If she was back in *insert whatever country shes from* she'd probably be doing a boring desk job, so why not wear pretty dresses all day and be worshiped like a goddess.
I just feel bad for Indians.
what surpises me abt kat is that she is so subborn that even in interview she will not spk in hindi...she gets all the royalties which even kareena does not get. Her acting skills is zero, some one does her hindi dubbing, avg looks and poor dance skills Kareena has to work her ass out to do good acting,do her own dubbing look beautiful and stand on her own.

fmlreally..hats off.. you write so well. katrina reminds me of Tom Alter a British actor who settled in India and did all the foreign roles in Bollywood. but i suppose in those days BW was more creative and real unlike now its struggling for survival. the casting in old movies was so perfect...i have yet to see a comment where ppl say oh this actress should not have been taken. But now casting this white trash as main lead representing Indian women is so weird...

Trust me there is racism against white people. I have seen it with my own eyes. I am American-Indian and some of cousins from India come here sometimes and are racist towards some of my white friends when they are not around and it's digusting and I always curse my cousins out cause racism is just wrong and i don't like it but it's a cruel world and some people are just arrogant.
another good idea to raise one's arrogance, i mean self confident- to deem everyone else more incompetent than you, by default u should emerge the winner.

The point is that Katrina's success reflects the colonial hangover of our country. She is an ordinary looking white girl with a very smart PR. A white girl who pretends to be a virginal desi seems like the ultimate wet dream of the Indian men. Hypocrisy rules here. When so many Indian girls aspire to be bollywood actresses and slog their asses off trying to get a break, a generic white girl who can't even act easily gets in because of a sugar daddy, it has got to hurt.
Also look at any other film industry, you will not find a person of color playing a role meant for a white person. Right casting is important there. Since USA is a melting pot of many different cultures, there are roles written for brown people too. But you will never see an Indian playing a person who is supposed to be white. Even typing that out makes me want to laugh. Here in Bollywood, a white person plays a character of a brown person, I will say that if there is any racism going on in the Bollywood industry, it is against the brown girls whose roles are being given to non-brown people. Katrina can play a role like NL, but giving her the role of Indu in Raajneeti? Disgusting. Can you imagine a brown person in Hollywood playing the role of say, Black Widow in Avengers? Black Widow is supposed to a white Russian spy. Can you imagine them casting an Indian and saying 'lol just presume that this Indian is a Russian spy, why is that so hard?'. That is what Bollywood does with Katrina Kaif and THAT is racist. The fact that she is a terrible actress to boot, just makes the wound deeper.

bring back actors like hema rekha rakhee zeenat praveen reena roy sarika and with it bring some good family oriented traditional hindi cinemea....in the 1980s, 90s .and early 2000s there were movies released each week and we look forward to watching it over the weekend...and these days can only digest 1 movie every 6 months...
not just with bad actors but also the script....for eg...terimeri kahani what was it all abt...
with that much money spend making that silly movie, could have made a better family or decent love story movie...
this is my opinion..
i want actors who can speak proper hindi...and believe me in western countries the non hindi ppl do not watch hindi movies....there is hollywood to cater for that audience.
Katrina was over 18 yrs of age when she started working for Boom... this has been confirmed by none other than Amitabh Bachchan. In one of his interviews a couple of years ago, he said when they were working on Boom, they all went to a pub ... as the rule was only those over 18 years could enter ...since Kat looked young her passport was particularly checked by the Pub staff. It was confirmed that she was over 18 yrs by then.

Wonder if directors raping wannabe starlets by luring them with film offers....is also covered by this spineless director who takes potshots at colleagues who have worked hard to be where they are, not ridden on backs of any boyfriend. It's cheap that this guy's perception will be seen by the world. Poor Katrina......never speaks a bad word about a soul in this thankless industry and this is what she gets. I wish she develops a spine and gives it as good as she gets. She's too diplomatic for this mean industry.
