I can see a trend that came from Hollywood and has caught up with Indian cinema as well: the Bro-mance/ slapstick comedy where two or three dudes (one of them has to be overweight, or course) go through the most absurd situations, shown to gruesome detail. The trailer does seem to use the same style of the Hangover (NOT saying it is a copy), and to some extent, even the very original "Tere Bin Laden" (the golden Aamir Khan Prod letters). I don't know. After watching 3 idiots and ghajini, i cant say I've emerged a big Aamir Khan fan.

As Aamir says, Delhi belly is crime caper/comedy of the same genre as Lock stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Hangover---but also a completely ORIGINAL film from the pen and brain of Akshat Verma, UCLA. Aamir gives this genre his own Indian name--'kamina comedy'!
