What's in a name?
This was when Kangna was travelling with her family to Dubai before the release of Tezz. Through the whole flight she was quiet and did not eat anything except for a coffee. The crew must have thought that she was a delight to fly with!! But what they know? Just when she and her family were getting off the plane, the air hostess who was serving them throughout the flight thanked her for choosing to fly with them and called her Ms Ranawat. The crew actually pronounced her second name as RANAWAT and not Ranaut. When it was Kangna's turn, Kangna turned back angrily and said to the crew - " Its Ranaut and not Ranawat. If you dont know to pronounce it just dont call people by their name". The smile on the crew's face just dissappeared!!! Well, I feel she was very hard on the crew. But I guess even in the media her surname is sometimes pronounced as Ranawat and not Ranaut. Thoughts?

She was in America last year, on a show and the TV presenter introduced her as "KAN-GANA RAY-NOY" and she exclaimed, "you don't know how good it feels to finally hear somebody say my name right!" so I guess the "t" is silent in her surname all the "a"s in her first name are loud...i.e. Kangana not Kangna, lol! She's the Choël Sëvigny of B-town. :)
Plastic surgery will not change anything. With this attitude, even is she is talented, she will struggle all life! Kids who came before her are liked more than her and respected for their work in bollywood.

It's her name, she can choose to correct ppl if she wishes. others do, WTBD??

WOW big deal if crew could not pronounce her name. she could have politely corrected the crew. Who gave her the right to shout at other people. Loser.

there is no need to be so rude.. Ranaut is not very common and Ranawat is a common name. so people get confused. what's the big deal? the air hostess was just being nice. these celebrities do not deserve any kind words.

I really like the way she speaks english. If she tried that in the US people wouldnt have a problem with it. Her english and accent is fine

what a brat.
you know i don't live in india and i also hate when people butcher my name. it is not a hard name, just unusual by western standards and when they don't even make an effort to pronounce it correctly, I get angry too. So i understand where she is coming from and she lives in India :O
Rude much Kangna!! I think Kangna should know that people who are not familiar with Indian names usually mispronounce them. Most of the time they don't do it on purpose. She could have politely corrected the air hostess, but saying not to call people by their name If you don't know how to pronounce it IMO pretty rude of her.
I always thought she was very mature, good, and smart.
The crew's intention is what matters. They were not making fun of her name. She should have corrected it politely and left it.
Afterall, life itself is perishable and temporary. How she treats and respects others is what will stay on.
Look who got peeved at wrong pronunciation. The entire English speakin community shud tell HER to stop speaking the language then :p

Kangana has always seemed a little off to me. Like a moody, insecure diva. Maybe thats why she's so good at those types of roles.....

She shouldn't react like that! I have lots of indian friends and no one can pronounce my name properly. As usual they call my Gauhar or Goar which is wrong because it's Gohar but what can i do? I'm just taking it easy!
