Karan Johar's and Ram Gopal Varma's Twitter War gets nasty!
Director Ram Gopal Varma has infuriated Karan Johar again by expressing a desire to remake Raavan as My Name Is Raavan. The two filmmakers, who have made no secret of their dislike, used the microblogging website Twitter to hit back at each other. "I want to remake Raavan and I want to request Mani to remake Aag, " Varma wrote about Mani Ratnam's Raavan. "I got a better idea.. I will make My Name Is Raavan and Mani should make Raavan Ki Kurbaan, " said Varma, taking a pot shot at Karan Johar's recently released films My Name Is Khan and Kurbaan. Varma also commented on Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming superhero film Ra.One. "Let's all hope and pray that Raa.1 (sic) does not become SRK ki Baarish, " he added To which, Johar tweeted: "@RGVzoomin...you have an amazing sense of humour ramu!! Never shows up in your films though." Not the one to be left behind, Varma shot back, "@kjohar25 ha ha karan because of the constant bashing I receive I developed my sense of humour as a defense mechanism (sic)." The whole argument started when Varma commented on the unfavourable reactions to Ratnam's latest film. "I have to bear with my flops and then also with everyones flops because whenever whoever's flop comes they invariably compare it with Aag. For Tashan they said it's Aditya ki Aag. For Chandni Chowk... they said Akshay ki Aag. For Kites they said Hritik ki Aag and now its Mani (Ratnam) ki Aag, " the director said. "Well am happy that if not for anything else I at least set a bench mark for flops. Also I realised that now Aag has become more popular then Sholay...that is because a hit like Sholay comes once in a life time and a flop like Aag comes every few months, " he added. The war of words between Varma and Johar is not new. It all started when Varma remarked that the scariest film he had ever seen was Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. The comment didn't go down well with Johar. * i hope you guys had fun reading this! gave me a good laugh!

Ram Gopal Verma needs to get a life and concentrate on his movies.
Never liked any of Ram Gopal Varma movies..i know he has won heaps of awards and all but his movies are never my type. and it seems he isnt a very nice person. seems kinda like a show off. he tying to act as if the failure of aag didnt matter to him at all since he's so high and mightly. stupid loser
Wed, 2010-06-23 20:41 — Anonymous, I totally agree with you.
No one sets out with the intention of making a flop. Of course, deciding to remake a huge blockbuster is a really stupid idea, like we saw with Don, for example.
Everyone looses when a movie fails, so let`s not try and pull something positive from this.
hopefully it's all in good humor. but i feel bad for the makers when the movie fails. we (public and media) needs to go easy on movies that don't do well. not everyone can be the best and make the best each and every time. why does everyone make such a huge deal of this? many comments and reviews get nasty too. it's just a movie and an expression of the team involved. some do good business others don't. people need to take it easy and neither do the the makers need to be all defensive and so sensitive. learn from mistakes and move on. and not take others harsh comments so personally. the film fraternity should also have some compassion for the members of its own industry.
well we see other side of RGV ...He can also crack everyone..its time to do comedy film ramu!!!
rgv is tres HAWT... Kjo not. Both as film maker and as person. Has created master pieces such as Satya. Kjo is just another superficial dude for the dumb masses. Forever RGV! Hail to thee
hahahahaha
Hahaha thanks I really had fun reading this.. I also noticed their nasty tweets ..It's just funny.. RGV said he set a brench mark..But I never heard that someone called a flop Blabla ki "Aag".. But it's funny he calls himself Ravaan Gopal Varma!!
