Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always been the FIRST choice for 'Heroine'
Courtesy: Mid-day A lot of people seem to think Kareena was the first choice. While the lesser known fact is that Madhur always wanted to make the film with Ash. She was also the first choice for his Corporate, but she couldn't do it due to date issues. Kareena was offered Heroine next but after chasing her for about a year, her tantrum throwing irked Madhur, be it wanting to work with only A-list actors, asking for changes in the script, or delaying the film by giving away dates to other films. That's when Madhur considered replacing her or shelving the film altogether. However, this time nothing seems to be stopping him from working with Ash for, what Madhur calls as his most prestigious project till date, Heroine. Though Madhur denied saying he ever approached Ash, he did say "Aishwarya was the perfect choice of the role. No one could have essayed it better." Now that Ash has made it public, Madhur might not deny that he has always had Ash in mind.

Aishwarya was never the first choice.. Kareena has been Madhur first choice from Page 3,Corporate and Fashion and also Herione... Why does Aish claim that it was written for her? she is so desperate dude. Madhur said that he cant see anyone doing the film other then Kareena because it was written for her, Ash was the second choice!
Yes, Ash was the first choice. Let me remind you when corporate was in post production.
Bhandarkar had said he has a song sung by lata jee but he hasnt used it in corporate. He wants to use it for his film based on a film based on heroine life and he wants to cast ash in it. He had told to media he had couple of songs recorded by lata jee during corporate but used only one, other one will be filmed later on ash.
Actually even corporate was offered to ash earlier.
In this case, it was offered long back to ash but she was not ready due to some scenes not suitable. Then, it was been pending with kareena thereafter. As per media reports, she also refused due to some insuitable scenes for her image.
After the script change it is again offered to ash and so she accepted. If script has been changed as per their comfort level, why the reason for kareena refusal could be just few scenes.

Yes. Madhur's first choice was Kareena. It was written all over about it. But she was uncomfortable with the subject and some intimate scenes, thus Madhur approached Ash but she did not say yes until he changed some of the scenes accordingly to suit her comfort level. Although Madhur denies it, that is the truth. Anyway, Ash is in and hopefully will put in a good performance and hopefully the movie will do well unlike Raavan which had so much publicity at Cannes and finally got canned out!
For many years - LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL...... I expected this quote from Ash... trying to steal credit from others all the time. Why cant she just accept the truth and move on. she will never stop projecting herself like she is gods gift to humanity and nobody can do without her HA HA.... madhur has been trying to work with Aish for ages. she was the first chose for corporate. and she was offered satta i think.
It really does not matter who is first choice or not but Ash is most directors/producers first choice, I like Kareena also but Ash is my favorite actress and I think she is the perfect choice for this role because she will rock it! As FOR the person who said Saifu choose Kareena, I am sorry I don't think Ash would of ever gone for him and I would not consider that a compliment because I don't really care for Saif, I think Kareena would be better off without him. Back to the topic I read some where Hrithik was the first choice for Don but Shah Rukh did it and as much as I LOVE Hrithik I can't imagine anyone but Shah Rukh in the role just like that Ash will make it her own! GO ASH!
I don't think that there is any proof that Aishwarya is the first choice for this movie, and even if there was proof, I don't really care! The only thing that matters is that the best person for the job is onboard now... the one and only Aishwarya Rai Bachchan!

Oh wow, so Mid-day did report a quote. If this report is accurate and they didn't misquote Ash, then there is no denying Ash was the first choice. But Indian media. One never knows. The interviews on the other post also... Indian media.. one never knows lol.
But I seriously don't get why people are making a big deal out of it. If Ash was approached first so be it. She is doing the film now. THE END right there. If she wasn't, so what? She is doing the film anyway. Kareena is out. Why associate her name with Heroine when you know the film won't come back to her and she's missed a golden oppurtunity.
To those ignorant people who are saying it will flop, yes this is a female oriented film and such movies never do impeccable business... at least not in Bollywood. But the budget of the movie is around 40-50cr... I don't think any female oriented movie has had such a big budget... so it might be hard to recover but not impossible. Inshallah, her performance will be praised to the skies and that will grab more attention. I'll be happy even if it ends up as average at the box office, like Fashion was.

FYI - Ash was tremendous in Ravan and Ravaana was a hit in all the other languages. Her performance was highly praised.

"oh no,i wanted someone else and got stuck with this!", he's not gonna say that! so whatever! who cares?? as long as the movie in the end is good,thats all what matters!

Whatever Aish or kareena were the first or second choice, Aish is certainly his best choice for this role, she is a better actress than this annoying arrogant kareena!

I was searching in wikipedia like the most of the movies that kareena has played (Hits too) and I only read great reviews of her performance in Jab We Met! Does she have another outstanding perfomance where she was high acclamaid by the critics???
what do you expect him to say..."kareena was the first choice but since she refused i ended up with aishwarya" of course now ash is the leading lady so he will say that she was the first choice....dont try to explain it by making such posts...plz ash fans get real and try to accept reality that kareena was the first choice... ash fans and their madness drives me nuts!!they are so desperate!!!
Kareena has given more flops than Aish! If her film is a bluckbuster grosser her performance is bad criticized, if she is good critiziced her film is a flop, only in some movies she's got the both elements!

I Really like anchal.arya and shmuck... they come across as very respectable people. We need more people like this on Pinkvilla. Even though they dont like one particular star they dont degrade them in a bad sence or there fans... you guys are awesome! Some people, should learn from them....
