Katrina is who she is because the film industry is catered towards the male portion of the population. An intelligent male friend of mine actually defended Katrina and her popularity (I had asked him why she was so popular in India) and he said that it was mainly because men aren't looking for talent, just something pretty to look at. So. There you go.

And yes kareena is the queen of songs, if she cant dance her expressions are awesome! her romantic songs were hit, just remember her in aaoge jab- jwm, chaliya- tashan, kyun- kambakkht ishq, Ale- golmaal 3! romantic songs, dont say alvida- MAMK, Aankhon mein neendein- WAF, Falak tak- tashan, dil haara- tashan. etc what say?

we all have our perceptions of the no 1 heroine. i can only say filmfare cleverly used what happened with the film heroine on their cover - clever business.
Yep, I agree. To be honest, the current state of Bollywood is quite bad. There are hardly any talented actresses left. The ones we did have are either not getting much offers, have better things to do in life, or are married! I'm sorry, but I think Katrina completley f*cked up Bollywood.. but it's not her fault either. It's the fact that the public fell into her "looks". :|

COMPLETLEY agree with that point. Since when has money meant that an actress is better than the other? Talent isnt measured by what wage the actors get.. god help us if that WAS the case!
at the end of the day, it's pretty subjective as to who you think the no 1 heroine is - for me kareena is one of the top heroines along with pc as both have roughly the overall package for me and that's what i admire about them. according to awards, kareena has had only the one filmfare award for best actress but she has had plenty of critical acclaim bagging two filmfare critics awards (only tabu and manisha have more) and a filmfare special performance award. she is not the strongest dancer i'll admit but her charisma and persona - expressions whilst dancing on screen is exciting to watch. don't care too much about money - would rather want to watch quality on screen, plenty of quality actors who charge less and deliver. bebo has some super projects lined up and i hope she finds plenty of success with them to reward her hard work. can't wait for her film with aamir and rani - looks like she has an interesting role in that.

For your own good information kareena is leading box office with two blockbusters 3 idiots and G3 followed by asin with ghajini and ready! and after kajol she is the only actress with 6 filmfare awards! when it comes to dancing she is not among best dancers bt she is good. so what else do u want from her? get a life and dont snatch hers from her.
