Two Top actresses barely ever star in a film together with the fear of being outdone by the other. Yet,Both Kajol and Kareena Kapoor are going to star in Karan Johars remake of Stepmom opposite Arjun Rampal. Well, first im going to express my dissapointment in yet another remake from Hollywood. Second, I dont think that Arjun is bankable enough and strong enough to stand in front of Kajol and Kareena.Having said that, one wonders who will steal the show In StepMom.
Kajol and Kareena are two of the most successfull and appreciated actresses in the industry. Both are said to be scene stealers. Both have even worked together in K3g.
Kajol is an icon and is most likely going to be a more prominent figure in the History of Bollywood. I dont think Kareena can repeat the magic that Kajol has with DDlj,KKHH,K36,Fannaa etc. Kajol is also a trendsetter because even after marriage and a child, she is still in demand. Kajol has 4 Filmfare Best actress awards and Kareena only has 1. Kajol achieved alot more at the age of 28 (Kareena's approximate age) than Kareena has.
On the Other hand, Kareena is also the heiress to the Kapoor family, so she will also remain a prominent figure in the History of Bollywood. She is the top actress today. She is both glamourous and a good actor at the same time. Her position in the industry is one of the most enviable right now. After the super successfull Kambhakt Ishq, she has said that she will ONLY do films that her as the central charaacter.
This raises the question, WHO Do You think will steal the show in Stepmom and walk away with the more meaty role?
Who will be credited as the Actress, and the Supporting Actress?

kareena for sure is the better actress as she have acted in movies like kurbaan, dev, chameli, jab we met, omkara......kajol on the other side have acted only karan johar's family dramas and any one can do that actually kajol don't acts well but she just know how to cry well and not even have a pretty face....so kareena is way ahead of kajol.
This movie is not gonna do good! Weird pairing, and it seems like copy of julia rober's movie. i can't remember the name. other women dies with cancer in that one.

kareena is good... but kajol is on another level. really wish kads was playing julia's part and someone like madhuri was in susan's role. and leave arjun alone, he's got great screen presence. OSO he made shahrukh look average and in rock on he proves that he can act too!

well the dad in step mom didn't really have a sig role. it's one of my fav movies. still a tear jerker anytime. i don't know if kareena can do justice to julias performance but, its a desi-karan version so i'm sure she'll do fine.

I so agree with you that Karan should consider someone else instead of Arjun rampal. He is absoulately not a great choice for it. He is only good as supporting actor. I was disappointed when i saw his name...until then i was excited to see both top girls working together...I am usually not a fan of remake movies but this perticular one will do good in India.... anyway hope he changes his choice for some other talented hero ( may be Saif, Akshay ,Hrithik............i don't know but not Arjun) sorry Arjun fans......
kareena will be as good as kajol in this movie. both have meaty roles as in stepmom where susan sarandon and julia roberts have equal roles
