This post is about actresses who are brilliantly expressive on screen. Those who emote so well that they make you cry, laugh and be filled with fury with them. So here are my choices: Rani Mukherjee- is number one on this list for obvious reasons. She is one of the few actresses who managed
Vidya Balan – Whether it’s the rage of Manjulika or the sweetness of Lalita (in Parineeta), Vidya Balan is one actress who emotes extremely well on screen. She has changed the meaning of the conventional bollywood actress who are mostly reduced to fill in the glamour quotients. Vidya Balan is one of the most versatile actresses Indian Cinema has produced in recent years.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan- I am not a fan of Aishwarya nor am I a hater, but I do have to admit that she emotes quite well in films. Her best performances so far have been Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Provoked. Her best feature (Which allows her to emote so well)?? Any guesses ?? Yupp, her eyes !
Madhuri Dixit – Madhuri is the eternal superstar who has it all. She mostly wowed audience through her dancing and masala type films. However, Madhuri has also proved that she is one of the most expressive actresses around. Be it a simple housewife who avenges her husband’s death in Anjaam or the timeless seductress in Devdas, Madhuri knows how to make everyone go ‘dhak dhak’.
Sri Devi- One of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. She can bring child like innocence to a character like Pooja in Lamhe or show extreme maturity like Benazir in Khuda Gawah. One of the most expressive actresses in Hindi Cinema – she has 4 Filmfare Awards to prove it.
Priyanka Chopra & Kareena Kapoor – Okay Most of you wouldn’t agree with this one, but I for one do believe that PC and Bebo emote well on screen. PC has one national award to prove her talent . Bebo on the other hand has proved this with films like JWM and Dev. Okay ! So these are the Top 6 on my list ! What are your preferences? And while we are at it, how about you guys point out some LEAST EXPRESSIVE STARS ??? P.S Please be nice if you disagree with any of these choices. Don’t scare me away from PV yet again Hahah Just kidding !

LOOOL ! this post is bullshit ! wtf ?! aish nr 3 ?? joke of the year....her acting looks very fake, even in Devdas and HDDCS....Madhuri or Kareena shud be nr 2 or 3, wtf is this dude ? even Katrina Kaif can act better than aish
SriDevi's eyes alone can act throughout the whole film,she has got the most expressive eyes.
pc has like 4 expressions that she uses over n over again but shes still better than katrina n sonam n deepika types..
aish is GOOD but not as good as rani..i like what you said; when rani cries you cry with her..SO TRUE<3
kareena is getting good shes the best out of the young actresses shes almost as good as aish.
but the best is madhuri hands down..what a dancer, what eyes what a smileeee:)
Ash is my favourite....Everytime I watch Devdas I feel like I am going to die when I see her running to reach out to Devdas, I litteraly feel my heart breaking...My God, she owns that movie! But she's fabulous in most of her movies, I am glad Guzaarish got her more recognition from the fraternity...
Then I must admit Rani was quite exceptional in Black, what a performance...wow...

But PC and Kareena in that list? Please.... The worst is that Kareena claims everwhere she's the best.... Come on, wake up woman!
I never thought I would like Ash as an actress when I saw her first film... but her performances in movies like HDDCS, Taal, Devdas, Chokher Bali, Kandukondain, Raincoat, Jodhaa Akbar, Guru, Guzaarish, Provoked...... proved me wrong big time. She is a great actress!! The best mainstream actress presently.

acting`s not about most expressive....its about expressing aptly n correctly........for tht matter i think aishwarya expresses perfectly according to the role.......guzaarish,devdas(how can 1 forget last sequence....she was mindblowingly freakin awsum in this movie).hddcs....she just moves u.the list goes on n on n on.........rani`s only commendable perf. was BLACK....otherwise she overacts......kareena again has only jwm.....otherwise she`s just bout mediocre.....others r ok......so the best is aishwarya 4 sure............!!!

What is Ash doing in this list.. LoL, where is nandita das and tabu ? they are well known in the west.
Three names that come to my mind when i think of the MOST expressive actresses of indian mainstream cinema:
1- Sridevi.
2- Manisha Koirala.
3- Tabu.
All the rest mentioned here including Kajol are not consistant and at times, mistake overacting as expressing.
Out of the current girls i like her range of expressions is Asin. Hope she gets better roles to prove herself.
Rani, Madhuri, Sridevi ... I think u should put Kajol and Karishma instead of PC and Kareena!
