SRK's "Asoka" & "Ra.One": Dream Projects on a Dream Date?
Ten years back, Shah Rukh Khan's, Red Chillies Entertainment ventured into an area of film making that was seldom trod upon - the making of an epic movie. On the 26th of October 2001, Shah Rukh Khan along with Kareena Kapoor set the screen ablaze with his dream project, "Asoka". The movie was critically scrutinised and not very well received in the box office but B-Town had found a new couple, that of SRK and Kareena. Kareena even claims to have the best on screen chemistry with Khan. Ten years later, Red Chillies Entertainment is back with another magnum opus, Ra.One, which is another dream ready to hit the big screen. This SRK-Kareena starrer is set to release on the 26th of October (again) and this movie will see them return as a couple after 10 years! Two movies, two dream projects, two attempts at venturing into the lesser taken paths but by the same production house, the same lead actors and with the same release date. Will this finally turn out to be a dream formula?

Asoka was very good.... but Ra One is gonna be pathetic !
Asoka was a superb movie. SRK and Kareena enacted their parts beautifully! Their chemistry was crackling! In fact Kaurwaki is considered as one of her best characters and looks! Unfortunate it failed at the box office.
Ra.One's promos look fab. Yes many people are being put off seeing vast similarities in storyline and posters with Hollywood superhero flicks. but then again, their movies also seem to be twisted rip offs of each other! All superhero flicks are similar to each other in 1 way or another. So stop judging the movie already and go witness it for yourselves.
Asoka was a wicked movie did well overseas, but Ra.One ATBB
the ra one movie looks something that would be a knockoff of ironman. typical.
i bet the movies storyline would be a flop otherwise there wont be so much promo about the songs. akons song in particular, the only reason people will go to see the movie and ofcourse kareenas clevage and belly!

Asoka was an amazing movie...they sizzled on screen...but this time I hope Indians can appreciate the effort put in Ra.One..it's soooooooooo incredible that Shahrukh is doing his best to produce something different for bollywood...I pray for the success of his work...but anyway the movie almost recovered its costs before release satelite rights, album,game, merchandise.etc,,,,,,it just needs to do a good job at the boxoffice and it'll break all the recoerds...SRK we'll always stand by you my king.
i loved loved asoka i'm not indain but this indain story really was very nice to watch in the big screen.
cant wait to watch Ra.one its not my cup of tea but im going to watch it for the king

I agree. Their chemistry in Asoka was sizzling hot! They burned the screen! However, I do think that the movie was ahead of its times. There were not very many epic/period movies made during those years. They both acted really well though.
ITS LIKE HOW SALMAN AND KAREENA BROKE THE STUPID JINX WITH BODYGUARD AND NOW IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN WITH OUR OWN SRK AND BEBO!!
I actually like their pairing. They had a lot of chemistry in Asoka and I loved seeing them in scenes together in K3G (even though they were not opposite one another). I don't know if the chemistry will be the same this time around though.. the script makes a huge difference and this time I don't know if the script will allow for such chemistry to occur.

Point noted! SRK's home productions always have Kareena or another actress in the lead (Juhi, Deepika, Sushmita). Despite all the rumors, he never cared about casting Priyanka Chopra in his home productions as the lead, even tough I am sure Priyanka would really want that. So much for the so-called "affair"! *roll eyes*
BTW, SRK and Kareena do look good together!
