Who are the top 10 actresses of this generation in Bollywood?
This is just my opinion on who are the top 10 actresses of this generation today. Please share your thoughts. With Actresses I mean "acting", someone with talent and intelligence. In my point of view - 1. Konkona Sen Sharma - first gained attention through the movie "Mr and Mrs Iyer" and received her National Film award for the Best Actress. Her apperance in the drama "Page 3" got her recognition from the audiences, later on did a lot of movies, where she was critically praised. She won Filmfare Best Supporting actress and second National Award for the movies "Life in a Metro" and "Omkara" 2. Kareena Kapoor - During her career, she has already won 6 Filmfare awards out of 9 nominations through her versatile and deep acting in movies like "Refugee", "Chameli", "Dev", "Jab We Met", "Kurban", "Omkara", "Hulchul", "Golmaal Returns", "3 Idiots", "We are Familly," "Body Guard," "Ra - One" and her upcoming hopefully big hit "Heroine" 3. Vidya Balan - Who could have done better than her in the wildness and craziness she presented in the movie "Bhool Bhulaiyan", the caring mother in "Paa," the beautiful and traditional beautiful woman in "Parineeta," the sister searching for justice in "No One killed Jessica," the bubbly woman in "Lage Rago Munna Bhai" and the sexy two - faced woman in "Ishqiya." Her acting made her famous with lots of awards and earning her recognition. We are just waiting for her next hit portraying Silk Smitha in "Dirty Picture" and her bravery to experiment out of the box. 4. Priyanka Chopra - Today's Zeenat Aman, the bold and sexy woman who "wears confidence" - Priyanka Chopra, the former Miss. World, started her career with the hit movie "Andaaz" and critically praised in "Aitraaz", as well as earning 2 Filmfare awards for these movies. Later on did super duper - duper doo hit movies like "Krissh", "Don", "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" and "Fashion" - which earned her both "Filmfare" and "National Award" for the best actress. Not to forget her acting in "whats your rashee" and "7 khoon maaf" which really proved her talent. 5. Kangana Ranaut - This strong-headed, ambitious and independent woman started her career with "Gangster", earning her a Filmfare Award for the best debut. Later on critically praised in the movie "Life in a Metro" and winning both a Filmfare and National award for the Best Support Actress in "Fashion." Her acting in "Tanu Weds Manu" made her even more versatile, not to mention her other hit movies like "Raaz", and "Once Upon a time in Mumbai" 6. Anushka Sharma - This Yash Raj Sweet-heart started her career opposite "King Khan - Shahrukh Khan" in Rab Ne Bana di Jodi, which made her famous in the bollywood industry and later on casting opposite Shahid Kapoor in the hit movie "Badmash company" and debut actor Ranveer Singh in "Band Baaja Baraat" - helped her to win the award of the "Best Actress in a Lead Role" in Filmfare Awards. So fard did only 5 movies, but really proved to be a "STARLET" in every movie she did. 7. Asin Thottumkal - the Starlet of the Kollywood industry, started her career opposite the perfectionist Amir Khan in Ghajini, which won her the award of the best debut that year in Filmfare and IIFA, as well as getting the nomination for the "BEST ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE." Later on, though we could not see much of her, but in "Ready" she again proved her acting skills opposite Salman Khan. 8. Ayesha Takia - The "Complan Girl" started her career with the not - so successful movie Tarzaan, but got the award for the "Best Debut" that year in Filmfare. Later on did amazing job in the movies like "Dor", "8 x 10", "Paathshala," "Sunday" and "Wanted." 9. Genelia D'souza - gave hit movies like "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na" and "Chance Pe Dance," though she could not prove much in Bollywood but definitiely won recognition in the South Indian Industry. 10. Prachi Desai - Some people might not agree with me in this, but coming from TV screen and then becoming succesful in the Big screen is not an easy job. Her first hit movie opposite Farhan Akhter is "Rock On", which gave her nomination for the "Best Debut" in Filmfare. Later on she did movies like "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai" opposite Emran Hashmi and the famous song "Pee Loon," which was critically praised and again got nominated for the "Best Supporting Actress" in Filmfare. So, who in your point of view are the top 10 Best Actresses of this Generation in Bollywood? Please we are only referring to acting here. Further, I would like to add that I excluded actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee, because though they still might rule but they have stepped into Bollywood a long time back and soon will fade away. I also skipped Sonakshi as she is just one movie old.

Well if you look now the most popular actress in India is Katrina Kaif and for me she is 0 in acting.she win all the awards..but if you won an award for best popular actress that doesnt mean you are the best.are many actresses in Bollywood who are 1000%better than Katrina..i dont know why you people like her so much.she cant never do a Kangana role like she does in Gangster or Fashion,or Priyanka in Aitraaz,Kareena in Heroine or Bipasha in Raaz 3.for me she is a shit.are others actresses liike Bipasha who never worked with a Khan(only w Saif)and she is there one the top.plzz people i know she is beautifull but not only that means.you must have also talent and acting skils!so woke up!!!

Ppriyanka Chopra is undoubtedly one of the best actresses of this generation....with the display of almost all varieties of roles in a great way, alongside commercial movies which were a hit last year, i believe she has established herself as one of the leading lady in bollywood!!! She might just recieve another national award 4 saat khoon maaf this year!!!!!!

when it comes to acting its a mixture of verstailty and how good u can
perform each and every kind of role you are given not jus offbeat not

I feel that a few like Asin and Prachi desai do not deserve to be in the list. Asin is one of the most over hyped actresses today and Prachi Desai, well she hasnt done much!!! Also, I feel that names like deepika and sonam should be included in the list.

the author very clearly said, the acting, the one has talent and intelligence - and Ash doesn't even qualify for an entry as she lacks both.
priyanka would be the undisputed #1 actress today if she had chosen the right movies. all what kareena did was choose the right movies with the right male costars. but priyanka is choosing wisely now she has, don 2 and agneepath which i believe will give her commercial success she deserves.

if we're talking about this generation, the top 10 are:
1) Priyanka Chopra (one of the only actresses to win a National Award, Filmfare Award, 14 awards for Fashion, she can dance really well, act amazingly, model & sing, she does impactful roles, including comedy, feminist, thriller, action, romance - she's worked with some of top directors and actors)
2) Kareena Kapoor (her countless filmfare nominations, awards & recognitions, her success rate, she can PERFORM, not really dance, she can act, do a powerpacked role, but she's better in comedy/romance roles, she's worked with all the Khans, and lots of great directors)
3) Konkona Sen Sharma (her national awards, her good acting. She should focus more on her dancing and doing commercial movies too, not just ones like Page 3, or Luck By Chance. Wake up Sid was great!)
4) Bipasha Basu (she's a good performer, and is an all-rounder when it comes to genres - Corporate, Bachna Ae Haseeno were definite movies she proved herself in. She should focus on her dancing skills)
5) Anushka Sharma (good actor, good dancer, and pretty - but she needs to break off the YRF banner and become more versatile)
6) Deepika Padukone (experimental actress with movies like Aarakshan, OSO, Love Aaj Kal. She's doing good for herself when it comes to choosing movies, and especially her fantastic dressing sense. She needs to work on her acting!)
7) Vidya Balan (powerhouse actress, but not a commercial hit. She needs to broaden her fan base, and types of movies she does. We know she can pull off an Ishqiya or Paa. But she needs to experiment with her actors, roles, and DRESSING SENSE! (she needs a stylist bad))
8) Kangana Ranaut (Her national awards, and experimental attitude with dressing and roles. She needs to do better in comedy, however, she can handle a film like Fashion really well!)
9) Katrina Kaif (Though I see her as a heroine, not an actress, she still make Top 10 for her commercial success, her dancing and her beauty. She's tried to prove herself with Raajneeti & New York, but she needs to stop acting with Akshay and Salman. She needs to focus on her acting skills)
10) Sonam Kapoor (The fashionista of bollywood. She has potential, but needs to learn how to act and dance... She's never proven herself as a good actress yet)

Awards don't proves one to be a great actress or actor,for example we take Sreedevi who never recieved The Padmashree Award inspite of being one of the very few finest actrors of cinema.But much junior actors like Tabu,Kajol,Akshay Kumar,Madhuri Dixit,Saif Ali Khan,etc.recieved the Padmashree.Also Sreedevi was not given the best actress awards for many of her films inspite of being a complete winner like Khuda Gawah,Gumrah,Laadla,Judaai,Nagina,Tofah,Mr.India,Sadma,etc.Same goes for Aishwarya Rai,Vidya Balan,Kangana Ranaut,Kareena Kapoor,Konkona Sen Sharma,etc.they also did not recieved many of their best actress awards for which they well deserved it.
