Katrina apologizes for her comment on Rahul Gandhi's nationality

Katrina was a lingerie model before she came in the industry. That's where kaizad gustad met her. The surname 'kaif' was given to her by ayesha shroff during the making of boom. Infact there was a debate whether to give her a last name 'kazi' or 'kaif' and finally zeroed down on kaif. The brochures of the print mendia for boom had been distributed with Katrina's name as Katrina Kazi and was passed later by saying it was a printing mistake. She told Ayesha shroff she wants to come to India and has no Indian roots whatsoever. Her mother like everyone knows is British national, in reality Katrina doesn't know her fathers name and all the Kashmiri roots and he leaving them etc is a story well written for acceptance by Indian audience.

The important thing to note is that she carefully keeps referring to herself as HALF- ASIAN and not HALF-INDIAN . Is she hiding the fact that her dad is pakistani ??

I don't find her comment offensive or anything. I don't understand why people are freaking out because of this. They should be worried that this non actress is getting the best films and directors!!! What does that say about our film industry and the audience?!?!?

Wow people will stop at nothing to simply hate on Katrina because she is pretty and nice, and because that combination of pretty and nice plus a hell of a lot of hard work has made her successful. Stop complaining whiners!
She is half-Indian (btw I am also half-Indian and I face this same BS everyday so I completely understand) and half-white and she doesn't need to apologize for her birth nor defend her "Indianness". She's not some undercover ghori coming to steal your world....its very obvious she is half and its a beautiful combination and one you should learn to respect just as much as every other. On top of that she has a valid visa to work and has proved her mettle in the film industry through hard work. I have had a chance to meet her at an event a few years ago and she was sweet and nice...she isn't any big genius but then again neither are the rest of the Bollywood stars. The fact of the matter remains that whether you immigrate to India or you are born in India.....your genetics make you ethnically Indian or not. She has just as much Indian genetics as Rahul Gandhi and she is RIGHT for defending herself and saying so. So DEAL with it. And speaking Hindi doesn't make you Indian. Tons of Indians don't speak Hindi...they speak Urdu, Maharashtrian, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Koshur, and a whole host of others. So she doesn't have to prove her Indianness by that either. In fact, one very important quality of India is its diversity and its ability to embrace people since the time of the Moghuls. There are even Chinese Urdu speaking people in Lucknow! And Spanish speaking people with the last name Rodriguez and Fernandez in Goa.....are THEY somehow not Indian because of their diversity? Maybe they are secret Chinese agents trying to take over....or Mexicans trying to infiltrate the south....Come on people! At a time when Indian professionals like doctors and engineers were leaving the country in droves and settling overseas, never looking back...here is one person who CAME to India....worked hard in the country, and has done a score of films that do the country proud. So appreciate it and shut up with your small mindedness. She has NOTHING to apologize for.

Whats worng with being British? Why should she be more Indian than what she is? Dont look down on people of other nationalities..and why should she take up Indian citizenship? All Indians abroad are dying to take up foriegn nationalities...coz they know where the standard of life is better.. dont grudge Katrina her success...she has worked for it and obviously the people love her.
