this is publicity for their movie. tribute or not, it will help their film.
Aamir and Kat are doing this magazine pose as publicity for their film where they will be playing Waheeda and Guru. No doubt, they are respectful and paying their tribute, but they are lucky to be getting roles of the legends. they're not doing it for free.
and for those people who think legends need to be remembered by today's top popcorn stars, that's sad. read your history. Guru Dutt was a LEGEND and GENIUS. Waheeda was a mystical natural beauty of this world, with a rare and deep beauty like no other. Guru and Waheeda (unlike Aamir and Kat) were NOT top masala stars back then, but remembered for their sheer art and aura in their artform. If people forget them, that's their own loss. Their genuius is for those who seek deeper.
height doesn't match for kat and aamir to make a "hot" jodi. aamir looks more like a pimp next to katrina then two "lovers".

Please, some of you obviously do not get Waheeda. She is a legend.
if you see the original pose of the 3rd photo, Waheeda's lips/pose/face is so exquisite. Waheeda had possibly the most perfect lips back then and cheekbones very exquisite.
Kat is a pretty woman but in the 3rd photo, her makeup artist did her wrong. Kat has thinner lips and plumped up with injectable on the top- she just does NOT look like her at all-- her face structure is all different- Waheeda's is a petite oval;; Kat is longer.

Kat is gorgeous but she DOES NOT look like Waheeda in her prime.
Waheeda was beyond gorgeous and very natural too.

If you compare Waheeda's lips and nose and general face shape to Kat's, it's so different.
Even Madhuri or Sridevi or Hema at their prime could not do justice to Waheeda's beauty -- that does not mean they are not lovely. Kat is certainly lovely. It's just that Waheeda had an extremely RARE natural beauty back then. Possibly no one could portray her beauty today.. it's doubtful.
However, perhaps Kat will act well in the role-- as Waheeda is said to adore Salman and Kat -- they are all friends.
just b/c you don't like the way she represents waheeda doesn't mean people are jealous. stop being so narrow-minded. waheeda and kat are on two different ends of a spectrum and third pic definitely is a very bad representation. it looks more like ad for vicks or zandubalm for relieving a bad headache.

What does Katrina knows about Waheeda? She did not about indian movies until her first movie 'Boom'. It's so insulting not to get an indian actress representing Waheeda who is legend on her own. People on this site representing Katrina is sick just like her.
what's up with these film makers. how can they get Katrina Kaif to play the role Wahida played so brilliantly. Katrina Kaif can't act for nuts. That pose in the 3rd picture looks ridiculous.
this is publicity for a film where they will be playing Guru and Waheeda respectively, and it should be an honor for them to play legends. if a new actor or actress does not look like a legend, it is not hateful to say so. she really does not look like Waheeda much at all based on the 3 photos above--- maybe she will act liker her. yes, she and the Salman family are close to Waheeda..

nobody hates Katrina people!! Katrina is nice. It's just that some people care for Waheeda and appreciate her to the CORE!!! Even our fave stars today (like Madhuri and Neelam) could not dare portray Waheeda.
Kat is nice looking.. but she does not look anything like Waheeda does.. and she definitely looked strange in the 3rd photo portraying Waheeda... compare the original to this one. And it's sad because Waheeda in her prime, was one of the most beautiful woman in the world. They should have taken better care to present Waheeda in the serene light she deserves.
we would not let just anyone portray Madhubala anyhow.. would we? we forget that Waheeda is also on Madhubala's level (if not more) in terms of beauty. Waheeda is India's treasure and a forgotten underrated beauty.
look, she DEFINITELY looks like she has a huge headache in the 3rd photo and looks NOTHING like Waheeda. it is NOTHING against Kat, who has been LOVELY and FANTASTIC for other roles.
but she's very wrong for this role just in terms of looking like Waheeda. for instance, our fave Madhuri would be wrong for this role. she just is. sorry. maybe she'll act well in it though.
as for tribute, they are surely getting paid for this?... aren't they getting roles or something. The duo will be seen in a Guru Dutt biopic by Rakesh Om Prakesh Mehra, if they're doing it for free, it's nice of them. but they're getting roles. it's good for them and it should be an honor to them that they get to play these legends.
