LO.? What do you mean Freida should be the sole ambassodr for LoOreal? That girl isnot a big star or even a householdna in the us and waround the world. What does Freida deserve? She just got lucky with Slumdog. Her movies after slumdog show she is talentless. She isn't deserving of anything
not a big fan of ash, but credit should be given to her for making our country both famous and proud on the international level !! and yes she is beautiful, but kinda arrogant beauty... and maybe that is why people hate her as they dont find her humble !! and yes i hate that annoying giggle !!

She was probably just laughing when she saw other people laugh, that must have been a bit awkward for her. She was a good sport. Her part was too short though! I like the dress better in the video than I did in the still pics, it's a pretty colour.

for your kind information they all have tiny translators ear piece...which takes a few seconds to translate each sentence ...so those who dont know french laugh and answer a few seconds later!

Well, I've seen her on 60 minutes and Letterman and she was kinda stand offish to them. She wasn't really sucking up. Freida though omg is rude with indians and yet acts like s nice girl with amercians. Atleast Rai behaves like herself.

Well Aishwarya ads are shown everywhere, including some ads that are still in the US. Freida is only in the US while Sonam is only in india. They are not shown all over the world like with Aishwarya,Andie,Penelope,Rachel Weisz,etc.

cos indian media is a takes side and never just.Amitabh bachchcna himself was a victim of that.Salman thrashed her car and banged her door ,they reported but they glorified it as his machoism and she was chucked out off chalte chlate BUT media never pointed out the injustice of SRk in that issue.
nothing new over the years ...the same steps each and eevry year because loreal group arranges it grandjournal,interview with tv5, photoshoot at terrace and balcony and loreal shoots ...and indian media following her here and there giving fake big titles in the home country whereas at cannes it s only loreal french who is behind her and hometown press :)))
it has become boring now and also after seeing her real photos with her real skin now all these whitened photos seem so fake to me she is really over hyped while she is not above an ordinary dark south indian

How freaking impressive is that ! Aishwarya did what no Khan could do. And that is why she has so many haters. Her,being a woman, single-handedly raised the profile of Bollywood in the international scene. So what if she did it by her beauty and grace , she is incredibly well-spoken too.

they seriously should have made her sit the opposite side.. her hair isn't tied so it's uncomfortable for her and clearly distracting for people beside her... and it looks bad in videos too!

Male host : Aishwarya Rai, you've graced the festival with your beauty for a few years now, you’ve been very loyal, you’ve been member of the jury in 2003, the Indian cinema is recognized/appreciated more because of you, and each year offers you a new pleasure/experience (not sure about the last bit)
Ash agrees, and simply thanks them for being invited.
Female host: What experience/memory do you have from when you were in the Cannes jury presided by Patrice Chéreau?
Aish: It was an incredible jury, we had a lot of fun (lol, Aish) I think we changed the rule a bit because we gave the Palme d’Or and the Prix de la mise en scène (award for editing) to Gus Van Sant’s Elephant, which was a first time situation in which we awarded Palme d'Or movie winner for editing/making also (I had to paraphrase a bit because I couldn't make out exactly all that Aish said, the French translator oversimplified it and talked over her; I guess Gus Van Sant made the movie as a one person army ;)
Then they really concentrated on the Alec Baldwin’s documentary on Cannes festival.
Aish was a bit fidgety and I found her laugh more as a nervous sign than one of amusement at times, but she did good. She looked so beautiful, more so than in her red carpet photos. I think she wanted to leave the show as well, when Gilles Jacob, the old pres of Cannes, departed for another function. Perhaps she wanted to be with her baby :))
