Ranbir-Katrina To Star In Anurag Basu's Kishore-Madhubala Biopic ?
After Barfi!'s spectacular success, Ranbir has let it out that he will be playing the lead role in Anurag Basu's yet-to-be-named biopic on Kishore Kumar and Madhubala's love story. The success of Barfi! encouraged Ranbir and Anurag to finalize the movie on one of Bollywood's most famous love stories. Sources indicate that dad Rishi Kapoor was keen that Ranbir should do the movie. Grapevine suggests that Katrina Kaif has been chosen for Madhubala's role. Basu says Katrina may be seen either in his next movie Silence or the one after which will be the biopic. Katrina is said to be keen to opt out of Ranbir-Priyanka starrer Silence to ensure she gets to play Madhubala. Of course, the film is at a preliminary stage and the cast, plot and other details have not been finalized yet. Further, the project has been in the pipeline for quite some time now. Will we see a recreation of the iconic song 'Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si'? Will it work? Will fans accept Ranbir-Katrina or any other pair as modern day Kishore and Madhubala? The lead actors will have their task cut out considering Kishore and Madhubala are legends with millions of fans swearing by their legacy even today.

Katrina may be popular for her looks and dancing but the fact is she is the crappiest actress ever to make it so big in bollywood. She literally cannot act AT ALL. Good filmmakers need to stop considering her for roles

Ranbir is incomparable in terms of acting.

Sushila says Madhubala's tie-up with Kishore Kumar was a marriage of convenience. It never worked. “Madhubala apparently wanted to show Dilip Kumar that she can marry anybody. Kishore Kumar was the antithesis of everything Dilip Kumar stood for. Kishore Kumar was going through bad times and wanted some financial security by marrying Madhubala. However, when he realised her medical condition, he lost interest in her.”

btw, isn't dilip kumar madhubala pair the most talked about... she only married kishore kumar as convenience... she didn't care a bit 4 him... she was already lost to the world by then...
and for kishore kumar, ranveer singh would be better casting... truth is, ranveer is naturally more effortlessly talented than ranbir but ranbir gets more opportunities and chances... and with time, he has greatly improved his skills... madhuri would have been the perfect madhubala... the smile and bright eyes... but now she's old and lost that charm... kareena cannot do justice to madhubala... kareena has her own style, she's great but she wouldn't be able to demonstrate the instability, indecisiveness and childlike innocence that madhubala had...
WORST casting ever! Katrina does not have a fraction of Madhubala's beauty, talent and spunk.
Unfortunately kareena is Ranbir's cousin. She would be the best for Madhubala.

This is one role that I would actually recommend Kareena Kapoor for.

How about Madhuri? She always reminded me of Madhubala. She has a very expressive face full of charm and warmth. If there is a way to digitally make her look 15 years younger on film then the director should just pick her. Ranbir can always potray an older actor. he did do that advertisement where he was an old man .
