YaY! Madhuri Dixit relocating to India
Madhuri Dixit tweeted today : For all my fans, we r relocating to India! It will b good to b back home. This is a great piece of news for all Madhuri Dixit fans. I am curious to know if her husband Sriram Nene who is a doctor in the US will relocate to India too or will he shuttle between India and USA.

I personally think she was way too much overrated,she was never fit ,I always remember her overweight,there were a lot of other actresses who were much better than her but never got the credit

Madhuri will have to face stiff competition here if she plans to return to movies. Her top days were over back in 97-98, and after marriage, she was only getting side roles like pukar, lajja, devdaas . Even if she is beautiful and can act well, so what? You don't need to act in bollywood, you "NEED TO BE IN DEMAND". And today,Kat, Kareena, Anushka, Deeps are in demand . Which heroes can she possibly work with? Salman, SRK, Aamir are all working with younger girls, she would be too old (in terms of screen age) for them. No one would like to see a SRK, Sallu or Aamir pair with Madhuri now. The remaining- Akshay, Ajay, Hritik, Abhishek, Ranbeer , Imran are even younger, so no chance. Possibly only Sanjay Dutt , since Anil Kapoor is also doing side roles. Else she will have to wait for author backed /off beat cinema like Vidya Balan and work with heros like Naseerudin Shah. She can noway occupy the top slot (for commercial movies) now

I agree . $300k is around 1.2-1.5 crore Indian rupees annually . See how much top actors./star wifes get. SRK is making RAONE at 140 crore budget, he gets around 15-20 crore per movie. Katrina -priyanka get 5-6 crore a movie, + so many endoresments + celebrity appearnces, they make so much over here+ so many facilities.
Even I would find it really odd to see her husband who lived all his life in the US to relocate to India. Anyway her choice.

Madhuri who announced she is relocating back to Mumbai, after ten years away in Denver, USA, will be shifting base soon. The rumour-mill has gone into overdrive saying the move is "strategically planned" to coincide with the launch of 'Bigg Boss 5'.
Sources say, Madhuri will be paid equivalent to international boxer Mike Tyson, who is also expected to settle into the famous compound.
Other names linked to the show include 'Kites' actress Barbara Mori, soap queen Ekta Kapoor, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Dino Moreo and Kratika Senger.
Jay Sean's name was also rumoured to be associated with the popular reality show but he denied it via his Twitter account. Last month, he tweeted, "This nonsense of me being in big boss 5 is total rubbish!!! Completely NOT true!!! Lol."
'Bigg Boss 5' launches in early-October. It will be presented by Bollywood favourites Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.

A star who is used to so much fame in India can't choose a career abroad so easily. Any job (got to find something to do with your time isn't it?) she may want to pick in US is nothing compared to the star-status she had back home and job satisfaction is another issue altogether.
Life in India is so noisy, busy and colorful that she may just want to live there all the time. I still can't believe her husband agreed to relocate though.. That's a big decision.
I am talking about all this because I had a star friend who was so bored/depressed abroad because she just wanted her life back. Kids didn't seem to need her that much and she was so lost in ehr life. For her own sanity she wanted to go home. I don't know Madhuri's case but let her Live the way she wants to. Live and let live.

to all the people who say it is not about money - oh puh-leeze
even as a surgeon in the US, after taxes, huge malpractise insurances etc he will come out with 250-300K tops - bearing in mind he is in colorado and not in any one of THE top hospitals in the bigger cities, i would say it is well under 300K after deductions. now, that is chump change for the wives of most bollywood stars. 300K is how much gauri, twinkle, shilpa, suzanne, sridevi, and even c-grade stars like gayatri joshi who snagged millionaires spend on 3 handbags in one month. these women married men who pay MUCH MUCH than 300K in taxes alone, let alone as their salary. for you and i that may mean a great lifestyle in the US with a surgeon hubby earning 300K but it's a pittance compared to the multi-millions that the wives of star husbands, producers and businessmen pull in each year. 300K in the US is hardly enough to cover an entourage befitting a superstar - like household help, driver, personal trainers, nutritionists, hair and makeup artists etc. you can't pay them substandard salaries like people do in india. madhuri has realized that if she has to keep up with the glamor quotient of being star then she cant ever rely on her hubby and she will have to do it herself. it is plain and simple math people.

People go to west for better education, and she is coming here. Why!

It is more to do with the feeling of coming back home.
Though I live abroad, I can't explain how great it feels to land in India and when I get back home to my city, streets, home I grew up in, everything that I am familiar with including people ofcourse.. That feeling is so precious!

Why does everyone keep talking about money? They have enough money as it is, so I really don't think that is the reason for her coming back. She has always called Mumbai her home and she wants her children to experience more of the Indian culture. She has put them on Indian classical music lessons and they are with their grandparents in India for months on end every year. The children have been coming for years and they propably love it here.
So love and respect for the country, the culture and its people. Why can no one imagine that? U guys are talking about money only. SHE HAS ENOUGH!!
Another reason of course is her career and i think that is wonderful. Sridevi and she will break Bollywood's ageism. They everything one needs to become the Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep of Bollywood. Why cant a woman have a family and a nice career in films? it's wonderful and modern. Im all for it; Madhuri welcome back!
Madhuri is not doing this for money. She clearly stated that she wants her kids to grow up in India and learn Hindi and Marathi. Although I wonder if she is trying to head them in the direction of Bollywood...

Insecure fans of other Actresses making negative comments
an avg doctor makes around 150,000 and a surgeon about 300,000. i think actors make a lot in general, not talking about madhuri she is old, but the young actresses make a lot of money, there's a lot of money in bollywood from movies to campaigns to endorsements. do not think that a doctor in usa makes more than well reputed actors/actresses from india.
That's great for her family as long as they're all OK with it! Her kids will have to adjust a lot, they were probably better off in the states but it's up to the Dixit-Nene family where and how they live their lives.
Anyway, I respect Madhuri for not breaking up her family to chase after fame like one of her contemporary actresses did. As long as she's putting her family first, then I say GOOD LUCK and I wish Madhuri and her family lots of happiness and prosperity! :)
It's a bitter sweet moment!!! But love her and great that she's coming back to bollywood!! Finally these young actresses will have some real competition w/the queen of bollywood!!!
She needs to comeback and do some serious cinema Shabana style. But also do a few commercial hits with Shahrukh and maybe Amir. I don't think age really matters for her. The camera guys might have to work a little bit harder / different angles. But as she showed in Devdas, she can go up against the best (Aish). And even Aish is getting older now... the point is not age but talent. Madhuri has always been one of the most talented. And anyway, Sridevi is trying a comeback. Even Hema did a Baghban. I think if Madhuri picks her films carefully or gets into production a little or what have you, she might hit the big leagues all over again. It cannot be a choli ke peeche type career now but then again, she has way more talent than just beauty or dancing. She's a consummate artist.

I think you people are silly. The reason for her coming back to India could be all the money that she has stacked away working as a top heroine for over a decade in Bollywood. I don't think she can repatriate that money to US. Still, I cannot believe that she will come back for good to India. Her doc husband is minting money in US as a cardiologist( or whatever type of surgeon that he is). In the long run, her kids will get the best education in the US. So maybe she will be shuttling between both the countries. Ugh! The problems moneyed people have!! ;)

FYI In U.S An Average doctor make $200,000/year. A surgeon makes $500 K. Thats a lot of money. In India Mads and her hubby can make a damn good living and she will live like a queen.
