Never knew this.. I read in some magazine somewhere that this Kapoor brood was distant cousins-- but now I know that is a myth. It was nice the way the brothers were a team. I've seen Anil speak in interviews, and he has an air of sparkle and optimism about him, certainly. I guess maybe he feels slumdog film is based on his own life, somehow... It's wonderful to know when people rose up with very little, is it not?

I think with the whole Slumdog cast, everyone really struggled or started from no-where in their career-- no one was handed chances like an elite. They seem like a brood who are not struck by the fame-greed factor (at least yet). It makes their success really nice.

Mia Sara... there was an actress in the 90's whose delicate beauty was famed... and she disappeared. Freida so much reminds me of Mia Sara... same delicate simplicity..

But while Mia had serenity, Freida possess joy and verve!!!

Guys!! I did not know Anil Kapoor did in fact come from the slums himself!!??? This is shocking news. I knew the Raj Kapoor clan were the silver-spoons. But I thought outcasted cousins: Anil and his brothers were at least middle-class. Are you SURE it was the slums!!!?? Do tell more.. it makes his success and rise all the more spectacular!

As for Frieda, she looks so sweet- a darling pretty Angel like type. She has struggled too for a film in Mumbai. Dev too seems humble, a really cool dude type. He is also a stuggler in Britian- but had a TV show, I heard.

I really hope the Slumdog team is as humble as they appear. Looks like all rose from the bottom up. Congrats to the whole cast-- and that includes AR Rehman, the star of India, of course!

absolutely right. they were not well off until his movies and his brother's movies started becoming hits. his father was also in the movies.
he had an awesome attitude while giving interviews, no pretencious, fake accents, no awkward pauses, no arrogance like AISH.
