hindu or muslim it doesn't matter caste is still practiced and typically fair won't marry dark or caucasian features won't marry african features unless dark/african is succesful is successful. casteism is just as prevalent among muslims as hindus, if not more
this couple has not let fame get to their heads and seem like very down to earth and humble people. his wife is obviously beautiful and she had chosen couldve worn a strapless gown with her boobs popping out (sumink ash or kat wod do) but she chose remain dedicated to her faith.

This is the actual fact people. A R Rehman was Dileep Kumar and an upper caste Hindu. His father was a musician too and mostly gave music in Malayalam films. But after his death there was poverty and then one of his sister got really sick. Nothing worked and his mother, him and this sister went to a dargaah and prayed that if she gets better then would convert. She did get better and three of them converted.
A R Rehman's other sisters are still Hindus and also married to Hindus.
A R Rehman married a very rich businessman's daughter. These businessman is basically from Saurashtra so they speak Tamil and Gujarati.
to Jeeya who has commented below, Rahman wasn't an "achoot" as you put it, even when he was Hindu. he was a born a Mudaliar, which is one of the upper castes among Tamils. So pls get your facts right. but yes, converting to another religion is a personal choice
