Dusky => Not Attractive ???
Hey guys, well the reason for this post is that i have been to a couple of posts on PV ( eg : Freida pinto on the sets of Miral -> thnx bubbles for posting that ).....anywyz the amount of comments being made on freida being ugly just beacause she is dusky was horrible....i went to another post of priyanka ( Aishwarya miffed by Priyanka) and one user even went to the extent of saying that Priyanka would make an ugly princess (Jodha) because she is dark...i mean cmon discriminiation ki bhi limit hoti hai....some people seem to be still living in the 1st century where "fairness" was worshipped by people..but Hullo, times have changed....but alas some people are still so naive as to associate BEAUTY = FAIRNESS / WHITE....so guys the reason why i posted this is because i wanted to know your views on : DO YOU THINK DUSKY STARS ARE BEAUTIFUL/UGLY????? leave lots of comments :) have a nice day people!

being beautifuls got nothing to do with colour but ones features...ther r fair ppl with weird features n hence not pretty and vice versa!

dusky, brown, tan, black, purple are all gorgeous to me!
not that white isn't but i'm brown and i feel like i got to represent for all of us! lol
i wish india would have what we 'had' in america in the 60s and 70s.
there was this cultural revolution where blacks embraced their 'blackness' and you had slogans out like BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL and SAY IT LOUD, I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD.
as corny as those sound now, they were truly revolutionary at the time because we had always been taught that because we were black, we were less valuable, less attractive, less smart -- all negatives!
america still has issues with race, and within the black community, there are still people who prefer light skinned black women over dark skin black women.
but then when you look at the most famous black model of all time - naomi campbell - she is a gorgeous, dark skinned, fit woman! and i just love that!!!
stop encouraging hate and discrimination amongst yourselves!
grow up.
open your eyes.
see the beauty that surrounds you!
anyway, all of the world may still think dusky, brown, tan, and black is ugly but i will shout it from the mountain tops until i die ---

dusky is not beautiful...not for me...n not for many ppl i knw..
despite what everyone feels and writes, dusky is not beautiful according to hindi cinema. give an example of a great hit, hindi movie with a dark heroine and fair skinned hero.

Skin color is of no importance anymore. Beauty has gone beyond skin color. Both dark and fair skinned ppl can be ugly and beautiful. Ppl should grow up and look beyond color. Great post!

BUT, this post made my login again after centuries coz i wanted to "personally" congratulate afrada! great job, very nice post! both, fair and dusky women are beautiful. if for some reason we dont like an actress, blaming it on their skin colour is really not the smartest thing to do.

So so true Afrada !! Beauty comes in so many different shades.
Do we admire only white flowers.. or flowers that are red, peach and even deep violet. The world would be so boring with just one.. hence beauty is diversity.
Hopefully, Freida represents the fact that one can be dusky and absolutely lovely... and the fair beauties of India are also admired !!! Each are special, unique and different.
kajol and rani are dusky and are GORGEOUS. so is lara dutta, and deepika, and asin, so there! and madhuri in her early days!

People are beautiful because of their face and not their skin tone. fair and dusky are equally beautiful, its the features that count!!!
Nice post. I think some Indian people are so ignorant bcuz white people want to be tan like us and they tan for endless hours and end up looking orange no where as pretty as us and some stupid indians get skin lightening creams and crap. Come on learn to love yourself. Dusky is beautiful. I myself am not a Freida fan but have never made a comment about her being dark and ugly. I have said she does try to hide her darkness at times which is silly. But oh well it is her choice. Many will disagree. No offense to anyone. Please don't start attacking me now.

don't y pple hav problems wit dusky actress, all these actress mentioned above r hit...n by smeone sayin they dark makes no difference everyones beautiful in their own way and pple should just accept it afterall most indians are dark...so y argue theres this white pple who luv tan/dark skin so y should we have ny probelms we have the best skin right!!!

I am so glad that young generations have realised that its nothing to do with skin colour, all about hardwork & chasing your dreams.. Priyanka/freida/deepika/kajol/bips/lakshmi menon/konkena all of them are great examples for that. AND im not saying light skinned colour actress are worse or anything like tht !! everyone get treated equally nowdays and i am truly sorry for people who were discriminated due to their colour..Indians/african americans etc
the people who comes in sites like pinkvilla and comment about skin colours are really old illerate people who still living in 20th century!

I mean it's like if your white then you're beautiful but if you're dark or slightly dark, then you're ugly. Where is the logic in that??? This is the 21st century. Whether you're white or black, it makes no difference. I think Deepika & Freida are both gorgeous in different ways. They each have a unique quality and that's what makes them beautiful irrespective of their colour. Thanks Affi! :>
aishwarya is also as dark as freida ...freida doesnt whiten herself like aishwarya thats the difference ...aishwarya is NOT WHITE ...

I think Bipasha and Freida aren't that pretty, not because of their skin color! It is just because of their features. But I think Deepika is simply gorgeous. Nothing abt skin color even though some people do comment on them being dusky and look like maids I think they are stupid and ignorant!
