I-T knocks Priyanka's door, finds Shahid
"If I woke up as Priyanka Chopra one day, I would wonder what I was doing in Shahid Kapoor's bedroom and then walk over to my flat in the next wing," actor Shahid Kapoor had famously said on a popular chat show barely a month ago. Little did he know that the statement would come back to bite him. I-T officials said that when they first saw Shahid, they thought they had Income Tax officials, who went to Chopra's Versova residence for a raid at 7.30 am yesterday, were in for a surprise when they were greeted not by the sultry siren but by a sleepy Kapoor, who was wearing nothing but shorts. For a moment, they thought they had raided the wrong sixth floor apartment in Classic Building on Yari Road. One of the officers disclosed that after rubbing his eyes in shock for a second it occurred to him that Shahid and Priyanka were "great friends". He said Shahid left the house as soon as he finished getting dressed. "Shahid was very much at Priyanka's house, but he wasn't in the buff and nor did he open the door. She has servants, so why would he open the door? Shahid had spent the night at Priyanka's place and she had come from walking the ramp at a fashion show for Shabana Azmi. The two are trying to spend as much time together before PC starts the promotions for her movie Saat Khoon Maaf," said a source close to Kapoor. "Shocked as we were, we knew we had a raid to carry out and that's precisely what we did. It was meant to be a swift operation and security personnel in the building were not given a chance to warn the actor that we were on the way up," said an I-T official. Officials said many documents were seized from Chopra's residence, which was created by merging five flats. The residence of Capt Dr Ashok Chopra, the former Miss World's father, at Lokhandwala was also raided. Kaif's personal assistants and two celebrity management companies Matrix and Bling arranged shows and other parties for the actress. The office and residence of photographer Atul Kasbekar, who owned Matrix and now runs Bling, were also raided. I-T officials did not find any documents in Kaif's Bandra home. Officials said they have found that the two actresses converted black money into white using Section 80 RR (see box) of the I-T Code. "The actresses have done many stage shows abroad. They took more money by cheque to get more exemption and then returned some of it in cash after returning to India. The said money is not reflected in their I-T returns," said an officer. "The raids are still continuing," said I-T Director General (investigation) B P Gaur. Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor were unavailable for comment.

I just luv peoples mentality on this site, this is a serious tax fraud issue, and all everyone can talk about is whether shahid and priyanka are together. who cares! we need to know whether she is committing tax fraud to her own country. good to know we care more about celebs and their relations than the serious underlying issues in india.

This article is so weaved by Mid-Day itself because even if shahid was with PC the whole night, why on earth would he open the door "only in his shorts".... thatz not buy-able. Like how more stupid can you get. Have u ever come-across some open the door for you.... clad only in his shorts. I mean what funny mind to have conceived this story.
If you tell us Shahid was there..that is believable.
If you tell us Shahid opened the door and was in his norm T-shirts and Bermuda/shorts or in his Pyjamas... that is believable too.
But telling us that Shahid opened the door clad only in his shorts is just plain lying and being dumb.
Midday has completely lost it. They're more interested in Shahid Priyanka's relationship than in the I-T raid. Shahid and Priyanka were very much together during the rehearsals of Screen awards, they were quite open & comfortable with their equation in public. Though they haven't announced their relationship verbal...which i think they don't even need to, but they've made it quite known that they are a couple. So people with common sensed had guessed about their relationship last month only. But media just wants some fodder and they're trying to stretch this as far as they can. Shahid & Priyanka are the most adorable couple of B-town & i hope this incident only brings them closer.

Shahid and Priyanka had pretty much accepted their relationship. Good to know that they are going strong *tw*. They make a cute couple. As far as I-T raids are concerned, I hope all this gets sorted out soon and Katrina & Priyanka come out of all this at the earliest. & yes they certainly need to fire their accountants.
All said and done, these raids will surely make the IT dept gain as other actresses as well as other celebs will start taking a second look at their tax returns. Some might file corrections as well.
Shahid and PC are in love, they make a good couple. media needs to leave them alone. I thought it was an IT raid and that should be the focus, but the media chooses to make shahid and Priyanka's relationship the focus. What is wrong wih a boyfriend being spotted at his girl's house even if it is at 7:30 am in the morning. He is at his girl's house and not at somebody else girl's house. Media is becoming weird by the day.

This is the weirdest of articles i have ever read. Mid-Day been given too much importance.
1st, Shahid and Priyanka are much in love and very much a couple.... even if the highly imaginative story is to believed what is the Big Deal about Shahid being at Priyanka's house. They are couple and it is well known not only to their family and friends but also to their fans.
2nd, common sense applies that no one goes to open the door bare chested, if they were hiding anything they would have been cautious...it doesnt take more than 2-3 seconds to Get a T-shirt on.
3rd, Shahid and Priyanka have made it pretty much clear in the past 2 months that they are a couple so whats wrong even if they were together. not like they are dating different people and then OMG the IT dept spotted shahid at PC's place.
4th, There is a limit to which the media should exaggerate things. Its only one Mid-Day article that claims to have received this information from a source but in all other articles with the quotes of IT officials they only said Shahid was present at PC's house when the raids happened.
Its good to see that Shahid and PC are spending time with eachother. After all the roller-coaster they been through, both of them deserve the best. Wish them lots of love and lots happiness together. GodBless.

they claim to be just friends-- relax people, friends do visit each other homes....
it's their business anyhow.. last we checked, India is the WORLD'S LARGEST FREE DEMOCRACY.. and people (including stars) are allowed to have any friends they want, visit whom they want... case closed.

In most cases, the big stars are found to be fine and paid their taxes just fine. -- including Salman and Aishwarya too.
and oh, by the way, us old-timers do recall when they raided Salman's place and the press went NUTS saying that they found Aishwarya in his residence living there. that was a huge scandal and no one cared about the taxes part-- just if Aishwarya was with Salman.

I think it's more interesting that despite making millions every year, these actresses are still too greedy to pay their taxes! Ridiculous!!
