A R Rahman won 2 oscars one for the best song- jai ho and one for best music for Slumdog Millionaire.

In his own words
when he won the first award: he said there is a famous Indian movie dialogue. mere paas maa hai. I have my mom here today. And then he told something in Tamil.

Second Oscar win: I dedicate it to Mumbai . In my life i always had 2 choices, between love and hate. I chose love and i am here today.

Update: Danny Boyle won the best director Oscar.

A R Rahman makes every Indian proud today. we love you.
