Rani Mukerji Makes History At The Filmfare Awards!
Winning The Best Supporting Actress at the Filmfare Awards today, Rani Mukerji has created history! She becomes the actress with the highest number of Filmfare Awards [Actress & Supporting Actress] to her name. The current record was held by Nutan and Jaya Bachchan who both had 6 awards overall. ~~~~ The list of Filmfare Awards that Rani has won are as follows: 1999 - Best Supporting Actress for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2003 - Best Actress [Critics Choice] for Saathiya 2005 - Best Supporting Actress for Yuva, Best Actress for Hum Tum 2006 - Best Actress for Black, Best Actress [Critics Choice] for Black 2011 - Best Supporting Actress for Noone Killed Jessica Other records set by Rani - She is the first and only actress to have ever won both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress trophies in a single year (2005) at the Filmfare. She is also the first and only actress to date to win both the Filmfare Critics' Choice Best Actress and the Filmfare Best Actress awards during the same year for the same film. I am not that into awards, as I feel that nowadays most of them are given to the celebrities that are attending/performing etc. However, feats are feats, and this is a fab one for Rani. Kajol ke pillo note 1 thng clearly kajolko tavi hit and award milti hai jab woh srk ke sath thoda nach gana karti hai.baki time fuse.and c rani's films she was awarded r by her own credit.rani is nt only greater than kajol but d greatest actor from d time bollywood was born.mind it rascala.

Every award show gave it to someone else,
Aish got it for Guzaarish, Anushka for BBB, Kajol for MNIK.
And to be fair, this is Rani's first award in the season (A REPUTABLE award from the HINDI film industry)
Her only other award was the Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Rani Mukharjee is one of the best Actress/Director of Bollywood. I like her and her move.
I think hers was a supporting role to Vidya's(although as powerful). She appears a lot later than Vidya in the film, who is throughout

Kitty, would you being saying the same thing if Aishwarya Rai had achieved this? I hate to bring her name into this thread, but no, you wouldn't be. You would be praising her to no end and going on and on about her achievements and international status. So please, just stop it. Maybe it was rigged, maybe it wasn't. From the backstage 'drama' that was posted on pinkvilla, it sounds like maybe Rani didn't attend BECAUSE she was nominated as a supporting actress, and if that's true, well that's just immature and unprofessional.
@ abir-itis, if you don't want to discuss the legitimacy of the award, that's fine by me. But to me, it's plain as day that the award was FIXED. They OBVIOUSLY downgraded Rani's role in the film to Supporting because her performance paled in comparison to Vidya's, who was nominated as lead actress in NOKJ as well as TDP. Rani didn't have a chance of winning if Filmfare hadn't redefined her role. Her fans expressed shock and bewilderment when the noms came out, but as I rightfully predicted, there was a reason that her role was downgraded by Filmfare.

Think about it, do you really think that 100's of Rani's fans would vote to demote her role to a supporting one? Or that her fans would not vote for her in the Best Actress category but they would go to the trouble of thinking for her only as second fiddle to Vidya? Something really fishy going on at Filmfare.
And if you're asking why it matters that Filmfare Awards has corrupted their name, it's because they're generally regarded as being the most prestigious, longest standing, and most credible of the Bollywood awards functions. Basically this act of open corruption has cheapened every Filmfare award that they have ever given. Shame on them!

Was it the pont of discussion whether Rani's role in NOKJ was a supporting or lead role...? I mean if you go back to my first post I have clearly said that the categorisation is not being debated here...it was already debated strongle when the nominations came out isnt it....? We as fans are jubilating the fact that its her 7th award is all what I am saying......Nutan and Rakhee have been nominated in filmfare for the same performance in Lead and Supporting categories....Mind you same performance 2 nominations same year....these things happen with filmfare.....So i am not going into that...I am happy for her....She won an award...n this wasnt her first for this movie.....may be the other ones were not as big in stature as this.....but she has been awarded remains a fact......
Rani mukerji is a great actress... her list of awards won is more than half of the bollywood heroines.. how difficult is that to understand.. please dont be blind haters when u have google and wikipedia..and other sources.. more than normal awards she has been honored by various national and international groups

YES! This was exactly the prediction that I made on the "Filmfare Nominations" article a little while back...
The only way for Rani to win the award was to shift her to the "Supporting" category. Of course everyone knows that her role in NOKJ was the lead, she is the protagonist of the film. But the Powers That Be knew damn well that Vidya in TDP easily overshadowed Rani's performance and they couldn't exactly let Rani go away empty handed for her comeback performance!
That in itself should be enough proof that the award was fixed. LOL

last year filmfare went against the odds when every award show awarded vidya for paa ,kajol was awarded for MNIK,and vidya for critics award!! this year they could also went against what others did and could have easily awarded Rani for the best actresses and vidya for the critics award...isn't!! if the award was fixed why couldn't "someone" fixed it as the best actress,FILMfare dont answer anyone,or they care about creditably because people are still talking about them no matter what!! and all Rani haters who previously said that her role in NOKJ is supporting all of a sudden saying that her role isn't supporting and the award is shifted to supporting category so that she could win...lol.
