Yash Raj wants Rani in Dhoom 3! Everybody said it was 'over' for Rani. But the actress struck back last year with her performance in No One Killed Jessica. She proved once again that Rani Mukerji did not need a size zero to shine. And now, if all goes well, the actress might just return to what we refer to as her 'home turf'. Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Yash Raj Films is busy chalking out a role for their Rani in Dhoom 3. Last year, the production house had announced Aamir Khan’s entry in the next film of the successful Dhoom franchise. Following John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan, in Dhoom 1 and Dhoom 2 respectively, Aamir had stepped in as the super-villain in the project. Yash Raj Films chose Katrina Kaif for the role opposite Aamir in the film. And now, Rani might join the cast as well. A source close to the project informed Mumbai Mirror, "Rani might be seen in a role similar to Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2. In Dhoom 3, Aamir is playing the villain and Rani shares a fabulous rapport with him. In fact, she had once mentioned on a chat show how Aamir had been her best co-star among all Khans." Initially planned as a Christmas 2012 release, the film has been postponed to next year. The film is likely to go on floors this November, which gives Rani ample time to decide and prepare for the role after her film Talaash with Aamir hits the theatres in June this year. Reportedly, Aamir will also work on his physique, a prerequisite for the role. "YRF has three big films with the Khans - Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. Two of these projects are already on floors. This leaves only Dhoom3 open with a challenging female role. Rani too is keen on being a part of the film. She will take a call soon," added the source. Dhoom 3 will also star Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who have been a part of the Dhoom franchise from the beginning. The film will be written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who had written the earlier two films in the series. When contacted, the YRF spokesperson neither denied nor confirmed the development and simply said, "We will make a D 3 announcement as and when there is something new to share." Casting story so far… » The third film of the Dhoom series was announced amidst rumours of Shah Rukh Khan being an integral part of the cast. SRK was supposed to play the main villain in the film and Kareena Kapoor, his lady love. » SRK was overshadowed by YRF's big announcement about Aamir Khan being the new Dhoom 3 villain. » In June 2011, Angela Jonsson was reportedly spotted at the YRF office sparking off rumours about her being the next Dhoom girl. » This was followed by reports about Katrina Kaif leading the female cast of the film. » Reportedly, even Deepika Padukone was being considered for the coveted role. » YRF, however, has confirmed the presence of only Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in Dhoom 3 as of yet. **********************************

Rani is a wonderful actress, but it's hard for me to picture her in the movie. She just might be able to pull of a villain though. Also, if she does sign for the movie, I hope her character isn't similar to Aishwarya's in Dhoom 2. There was nothing wrong with Aishwarya's character, but what is the point of doing something that has already been done? What I want to see is her cast opposite Abhishek whether it be in this movie or some other one. Their chemistry was electrifying and I miss seeing them on screen.
Yay but I wonder how hot can she look... I mean it's DHOOM! If Aish could, so Rani will (I hope lol).

i dont think that Rani will be seen opposite Amir....Amir does not repeat his leading ladies again and again,he has already worked with her thrice...i think katrina will be seen in the glam role opposite Amir and Rani will be seen as the lady cop,maybe to accommodate her they will replace Abhisheck or maybe the loser will accept to work with Rani as he has no other choice (and aishwarya will finally allow him because she has no choice as Dhoom 3 will be his only hit after yearsssssssssss) and if Rani kicks him out of the movie that would be just awesome,she should show her power and that she is the lady love of the owner of the biggest production house in India ever!! aishwarya must be regretting now not seducing and marrying adi....lol
she's going to outshine katrina with her dead facial expressions and gyrating:D
They will probably put Katrina in Bipasha's role in Dhoom 2 and Rani in Aishwarya's role

I'm not a fan of hers, but come on, she can fit easily a film like Aish in a film like this. She has the beauty. She only needs to look like in DBH. No reason for Hater 1-2 comments... I loved Aish also in Dhoom 2 and Rani would be great too..

What about Rani as a female villain? :>
Rani doesn't suit these types of movies, and plus you need people like Ash, Bipasha and Katrina who look great on screen in ANYTHING they way.
Rani suits the bubbly roles, or those where she's the love interest.
They should pick someone more apt for the role, and someone who can add more sex appeal into their movie. Like PC, Kareena, Asin, Deepika.
If they want to go back to the heroines from Rani's generation, I think Preity would be a better choice. Her & Aamir were good in Dil Chahta Hai and her and Abishek are outstanding together
She's amazing in any role so I'd love to see her in the film playing the villain. She'll fit it easily..the picture above is proof. She looks amazing in that picture :) Would also love to see Abhi and Rani together..they have such good chemistry!

She has always said that she wants to work in an action type of movie. However, to me, the Dhoom girls are eye candy. There are there to bring glamour and sexiness to the movie, not for their acting skills.
I know that Rani will be brilliant in any role, she is truly a tremendous actress. She can lose weight like she did for DBH and will fit right in.
Having said that, I'd like to see her in it, just to see her play an evil character.

Remember, they won't pair Abhi with anyone cuz he has wife (I can't remember who played her, she was in D:1 and little in D:2). But it's a good step, maybe next will be to pair Rani with Abhi again?
