“I can’t take my family to see Gangs Of Wasseypur!” says Salman
In Anurag Kashyap’s recently released film, which is the sequel of Gangs Of Wasseypur, one of the characters, Definite, is shown to be Salman Khan fan. This is particularly interesting as Anurag had a public fallout with Salman at the time of Dabangg which is his younger brother, Abhinav Kashyap’s directorial debut.Things went so sour between the Khan and Kashyap brothers that Salman went ahead and decided to make the sequel without Abhinav. Now the producer Arbaaz Khan is directing the film. The question is whether it’s just a scene in the film or Anurag's attempt to mend bridges with Salman? Ask Salman if he thinks Anurag is trying to extend an olive branch to him and if he is willing to accept that, he retorts, “I do clean films, straight out. Mujhe meri picture main gaali vaali rakhne ki koi zaroorat nahi padti. (I don’t needto use abusive language in my films.) I just want to do my kind of cinema. I just want our filmmakers to make movies with our culture and value system.” Even though Salman doesn’t seem to be in a mood to forgive and forget, however he gives his best wishes to the film. He adds, “If this film does well, its good. I will be very happy. I hope every film does well.” The actor informs that he has not seen the film yet. “I am busy promoting my film. I don’t have time to watch other’s films.” Ask him if he plans to watch it in the near future he shoots back saying, “No. I watch films with friends and family. But I can’t take my family to watch that film. Even though everybody is grown up and mature in my family. And we all are adults and aware and very chilled out but I don’t I think I will want to see that film with them.” We wonder what Anurag has to say to this?

Wow people on here are so judgmental it is sad. I completely agree w what Salman has to say. And I'm sure people like SRK and Aamir also agree to it, that's why they are such big stars.

I'd rather see a Kashyap film than a Salman one. Anurag has an impressive track record as writer, producer and director. and I want my money back on the torture that was Bodyguard.

I agree, he has a horrible personality and a huge ego that surpasses that even of kanye west (anyone watched last week's South park that made fun of Kanye's ego) it reminded me so much of Salman. But at least Kanye west has talent to back that ego up.
It makes me question where India is headed to if ppl like Salman khan can keep making movies and ripping ppl off? Sometimes I even question those ppl's tastes, maybe that's another reason y bollywood is still so closed to outsiders, has not moved from its song and dance routine and all this is just reinforced when ppl like him keep promoting such movie making ways under the pretense of it being family entertainer. it's not entertainment, it's making ppl dumber.

I now knew why he broke up with some of his friends such as SRK and vivek and ex-girl friends,he is such an arrogant and dectator man who thinks all the world must work as he says,not moral at all to speak so about an actor in the film industry,just because he is not a great star like him

I soo agree with everyone for the first time. Hyprocrite. introducing Sunny Leone and Katrina Kaif. please stop talking about respect. I rather would like Sharukkhan top speak about respect since he atleast makes some family movies. And im not a fan of either of them

Family cinema should just be cinema that kids can watch with parents, and women degraded as sex symbols (in item songs) and cariacatured ditsy roles do not make good viewing for kids IMO, and HOPEFULLY that does not represent Indian culture and values for people.
Salman should just talk about his values and culture (e.g. an outdated "macho" image, overbearing alpha male behaviour), and stop dragging all of India into it. It's so pretentious when people talk about what Indian culture should be as a whole. It's a big country, people, so keep your prejudices and assumptions to yourself. It's not as if you are some kind of expert or academic on that subject that you can run your mouth off.
okay what is up with all the haters? Most of Salman's movies have been blockbusters but he has never been arrogant! Just look at his interviews,he is the most humble,down to Earth and real guy in Bollywood! He has the strongest fan base and we will support him no matter what! He is right, such film like Gangs of W is good on DVD with maybe some people who needs to know about india and underworld, but as for Indians, people have to entertain in cinemas to they go there for entertainment but not to watch the film which is good for smaller audience
Slaman i honest and do not hide his position as the film is critically acclaimed, and than what? critics can keep their words with themselves.

Have relations with underworld - that represents our values. But making a real film of how things are in a small town of jharkhand- is a sudden no no.

salman has such double standards when it comes to his work his people his team no matter how bad they are he will praise them. When it comes to others he holds grudge. We all know how happy he was to introduce sunny leone and his own Ex-GF or current or whatever is a pron star. So your family accepts that. GOW is a good movie and anurag basu is a good director and this movie is much better than his hopeless Ready and Bodyguard. so dude just chilll!!!!!!

I find Salman's statement so false and so hypocritical. GOW had nothing more than what you would actually see on the streets of Bihar. Heck even living in bombay you hear people cursing all the time. Galmourous outfits, non indian locations, imported cars that we see in Salman's movies do not represent our reality, culture or values in any way. Infact GOW represents the true india and its 'value system' far more than most typical bollywood movies.
Gangs of Wasseypur is not a family film and that's true.It's his personal choice whether he wants to watch it or not. If he had said that he's not had the time to watch it then people would have complained that's he's being diplomatic.People are now crucifying other people if they don't agree with their choices. If you don't like his films don't watch...plain and simple.

i love item songs, and i see nothing wrong with them, salman's just being hypocritical.
