Ranbir Kapoor - Above the Khans?
The heart throb of the nation who has been in the news for all sorts of reasons (good or bad) seems to be taking the 'Kapoor' surname quite seriously. Yes, we are talking about Ranbir Kapoor. The Kapoor's are known to be THE most passionate about cinema and Ranbir is no different. In a recent interview with Mid Day he was quoted as saying that he would love to overtake the Khan's one day even though he is aware that they have been around in the industry for over 25 years. Too ambitious you think? Perhaps the day is not too far when he goes right on top, what with the kind of movies he is selecting these days. Started with a "Saawariya" and then went onto star in movies that were drastically different from each other in terms of the roles he played: a typical college boy passionate about photography in "Wake Up Sid" and a conniving member of a political family in "Rajneeti" to a struggling singer in "Rockstar". This Kapoor boy has what it to takes to reach the top especially since that is what he striving for. In an interview with NDTV a month back, he spoke about how wanted to be the No.1, and this journey of doing films was to get there. Never the one to mince his words, Ranbir has been extremely forthcoming in his interviews. Too frank for his own good? The "Rockstar" image on celluloid does not really transpire off screen. For starters, he might need to change his stylist considering his choice of dressing could prove to be a huge letdown for teenagers who make the core of his fan following. Also, in many of his interviews, he comes across as somebody trying too hard to portray a certain kind of image which in reality is not him. The superficiality could turn out to be a letdown. Well, love him or hate him, this woman's man (though he claims he is far from being one and the one that his mother claims he is) is definitely here to stay since his choice of movies are quite faultless. SRk is still exist but now Ranbir is the brand ambassador of Pepsi, hosting prestigious Filmfare award, he is awarded brand ambassador of the year, well salman endorse some detergent powder. Ranbir has already get a position in 100 corers club. Amir gives his last blockbuster hit in 2009 and Shahruckh in 2008. Salman gives 2 blockbuster in this year after the flop of veer and Mr& mrs khanna but people already get bored of those wanted kind of masala movie . It has the potential that Rockstar will b a blockbuster and Barfee is a child friendly fun movie, so it may b hit/ semi hit or super hit becoz Indian audience like light movie. Ranbir and Ayan made a unconventional "wake up sid" a hit so Yeh Jawani Hai Diwwani must b super hit and then Two States, Action movie again with Imtiaz and the list is go on....................................................

He will be a big star one day. You guys wait and see. You all are always making fun of him. Enough already! Seriously you guys need to stop. He is a good actor, and he working so hard. He has done complex roles like Raajneeti and Wake Up Sid. He is doing another complex role in Rockstar that is releasing soon. He is the best actor! I bet no actor of his generation like Shahid or Imran could play these roles like Ranbir. He rocks!

Why not ? he looks better than those khans.In their 20s, Salman looks feminine, Amir has a round baby face, SRK looks oily with awful hair style. Amir improve a lot in acting, definitely he takes long time for a movie. SRK and salman still cant act.
So, Ranbir has the looks, acting skill, charm, personality, he will go far ahead after 1 decade than the khans achieve 2 and 1/2 decades.

I respect him, he is a nice, mature person, but we have never been the best of friends. We all know each other Prateik, Shahid, me, Imran. Trying to pit us against each other is exaggerated; it is fun because it drives us both to work hard. We are expected to take the legacy of the Khans forward, and that’s a big responsibility. I want my films to do as well as the Khans’ films, may be I am thinking too big, but they have been here for 25 years. It takes time to achieve that, but I know I will do that, I want to achieve greater heights.

I think after 3/4 years he will be bigger than khans. They have 25 years old career and i think when Ranbir pass his 2 decades he will be a living legend.
He has the talent and has the guts to desire such things.
Relax guys why 'miss quoted' him ? He never said that he wants to take over khans right now, he only desire that he, shahid, imran , prateek , ranveer may be on the top like khans in future.
i am not sure if people realize this but the khans will one day be out, they already are in their late 40s. like actors before them, they will also have to step down and make room for the new blood. this is life, no one can be young forever. whether it be ranbir kapoor or someone else, other actors will take their place.
He definately will be at the top once the khans take a break from movies, BUT he will never reach the star status that they have acheived, he lacks the quality, acting and the aura! sorry ranbir but wish you all the best in acheiving your success

He's barely here, the khans have been here for more than 20 years. No comparison at all. He needs to gives consecutive hits like them for 20 years to be even compared to their caliber.

ranbir kapoor is a fantastic actor. i think he'll definitely come close to the khans if not cross them.
i think hrithik and ranbir are the only two actors other than the khans who have great potential.
Ranbir may have a chance, but not until every single khan stops making movies, they will all be held on the same pedestal as amitabh bachchan.
btw i am excluding saif ali khan, because he is one of the most overrated actors ever.
He is the most talented person in Bollywood. Once salman said that Ranbir needs more good film only to prove himself. I agree with him, only good movie and nothing else, which prove him the best.
