Salman Khan - Bollywood's answer to Rajinikanth?
The superstar primarily of South India - Rajinikanth, has a major fan following all over India. There is none like the man himself and his effect on the box office is unbelievable. Bollywood has never really had a stable "box office lucky" actor till date. But with Salman Khan's recent stint at the box office, we might have to re consider. The last few releases of Salman Khan have gone onto create box office records. One even won the National Award! Though he has given a no.of hit even before this, it is the "masala entertainer" avatar that the audiences have grown to love. The critics haven't been too easy on this Khan but his loyal supporters and fans have ensured that the critics do not spoil the party for Salman. This pattern almost resembles the pattern of Rajinikanth's relationship with the box office. With all due respect, there is no comparison to this mega star's success. But truth be told, Rajinikanth's films have hardly been accepted by critics. There has been a few movies where his performance has been spoken about but it then reached a point where anything he did was a style statement. Even though his antics are almost always difficult to believe, it is those very antics that has the audiences world over going ga ga over him. Salman Khan is now in a phase similar to that. When he did play some high intensity, meaningful roles, there was just a few section of the audiences that accepted it. The critics still had their share to say. But now, Salman's loyal fans have decided to support the star in full force in all his ventures and by the looks of it, Salman has in turn decided to give his fans what they need instead of trying to please the critics. It is difficult to remember the last time a actor had a run of this sort at the box office. Maybe he is just plain lucky or maybe hos hard work is finally paying off. But for now, whatever Salman Khan touches is making crores of money and the fans are loving this avatar of their star. If you want any more proof of it, here are a couple of videos portraying the "Salman mania"! So whose complaining then?

Kollywood and Bollywood all count as Indian cinema. Bollywood is more well-known than kooky wood and so they should be happy with that fact. Rajinikanth is definatley on of the greatest actors of all time, I have respected him so much, since the age of four and till now at the age of 15. My friends may not understand why I really admire a man of the age of the boss himself, I really don't care. YOU ARE AMAZING RAJINI!!!!

I know an indian who alway help the poor people and do for other becose he has no wife no sons so we luv him and support him Salman khan.
Rajini has a loyal fan following in japan,malaysia,hongkong,singapore and russia.No other actor from asia is ahead of rajini except jacie chan.So don't compare cat to a lion.
i think both are best on their own way.. no comparison between both. Well I'm not an indian but I luv to watch Indian films. And honestly Salman khan is so big and huge here in europe.

I BELIEVE SALMAN KHAN DESERVES THIS SUCCESS. HE IS A NICE, DOWN- TO EARTH WITH A HEART OF GOLD PERSON THAT IS WHY MOST OF THE ORDINARY PEOPLE CAN EASILY CONNECT WITH HIM EXAMPLES ARE THESE VIDEOS. IN MY OPINION HE IS THE MOST DECENT MAN IN BOLLYWOOD. MEANWHILE, I DON'T KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RAJNIKANT'S SUPERSTAR STATUS SO I DON'T WANT TO COMPARE HIM WITH SALMAN.

Salman is not a versatile actor....the last 3 hits were a fluke. So do not expect all his films to be hits and do not compare him to Rajnikant, who is a good actor and a good human.
hey guys plz don't compare Rajinikanth with anyone , he is one of the best actors in india , now a days we are seeing his commerical movies but in early years of career he has acted lot of variety of movies with director Balachander, and overall he is very humble person for whom success or failures doesn't make any difference.
he does his charity without any publicity, he is one of fine artist who's acting skills are not much tapped.

I only know Hindi films coz of Salman (having lived all my life in England) and to me he is way bigger than any Rajnikanth or whoever.
The film has already made 210 crs worldwide and abhi picture bakhi hai mere dost :):)
RAJNI is a LEGEND, RAGS TO RICHES, He really KNOWS "BEING HUMAN" unlike salman who can only put being human on his t-shirt and walk around. It takes a man to do good deeds and not to publish it, unlike Salman. TO REACH RAJNI'S STATUS, HE HAS TO TAKE SEVERAL BIRTHS maybe!! Rajni as a human being is a great person, he has done a lot of charity but none were for publicity like Salman does. Career wise too, Salman can never be a Legend that Rajni is!! Whenever a Rajni movie is released its MANIA, everyone is CRAZY abt it, not the same case with Salman! PLEASE DO NOT DO SUCH COMPARISON!
