Bollywood stars endorsing fairness products
Well, its a given that India/pakistan/Sri lanka and many other south asian countries are obsessed with fairness. The cosmetic giants whose main goal is to have as many sales as possible dont really care what product they sell as long as it sells. And there was a recent research coming from the indian marketing department that amongst the female products in india apart from hairoil, the only product that sells like hot cakes is fairness creams. Every cosmetic giant in india has a fairness cream if you notice. Now that the indian men are getting metrosexual, they even have fairness products for men. Coming to bollywood, almost every bollywood star has endorsed fairness products. You cant single out just one star. Coming to Aishwarya rai endorsing, the thing that everyone was enraged with is her blatant lies on the tyra banks show that she doesnt endorse fairness creams when she infact has endorsed lux white glow and loreal white perfect in the past. and this is not a lie. Here goes the long list of bollywood celebs endorsing fairness products. Enjoy:)

And Shonali.
Look at how dark Esha Deol is and she is endorsing fairness cream, anybody who buys it has themselves to blame if the cream doesn't work for them. Even Raveena. SMH.
I thought Aish said she doesn't promote skin whitening products...
None of those creams work...most of my female cousins in India have been using them for 20 years or more and they don't do a thing. All my cousins are the same brown color they were 20 years ago.
that turmeric cream looks interesting..i would wear that..i never liked the idea of putting a cooking spice on my face
For the record, Priyanka looks soooo much better tanned. It gives her a more exotic, sexy look. As someone with very dark skin, I don't get offended by these products at all. I actually find the ads hilarious(especially the commercials) because they state that being fair will all of a sudden make your life better, when it really makes no difference. You just have to be confident with yourself not worry about these ads. I still think I am beautiful regardless of what these ads say. These products don't even actually lighten the skin. They just even out the skin tone to give a "brighter" appearance. I use a fairness cream to get rid of my acne scars(and it actually works and my skin color is EXACTLY the same as it was before.
y is it sch a big issue promoting a fairness cream,....
y is it sch a big issue promoting a fairness cream...
looks like racism is a bigger problame in india than in australia

every artist are really fond of making money thru advertisements, this is the only way they could earn money and be recognized but they don't think what's the importance and benefits of the said ads o the consumers, they should really be careful of what they promote. If i were you guys, if ur looking for great products and proven by SCIENCE, why try NU SKIN!!! It value your money and our skin for a lifetime.. topshoppe25@gmail.com email me!
I hate all these actress for telling young girls who look up to them that if they are not light they are not beautiful. I can't believe like priyanka chopra won the youth icon award while doing this kind of thing. Shame on you!
GOD HELP US....its amazing that even with so much technological advancement and intellectual growth, the world populace is so shallow and pathetic!
in the first people must not buy those things be happy to be alive and be happy of what God has given you
that is really pathetic
the actors who are well know faces must not endorse that kind of stuff because a lot of young people look up to them and If they are dark they will use the product thinking that because ash or pc or srk endorse that that is good
NO!!!no to all that !!and yes to black white yellow red colors skins!!!
Anonymous on Tue, 2009-04-21 06:15: absolutely. some would. that makes it a double-lie.. endorsing something they don't believe in. most people know these products are bogus too. wrong is wrong.
Has it ever occurred to any of you that maybe these stars are doing these ads only for the money and not because they believe in skin lightning?
well Anonymous on Mon, 2009-04-20 05:14.
it's a person's choice to buy the product, so u can believe in your santa and tooth fairy as much as u want because it's not going to stop these celebs from promoting these creams.
Mon, 2009-04-20 16:43 has become a symbol of racism of Indian males against Indian females: read your comment history, and see all the sick dark maid comments before you PRETEND to be all politically correct. the NERVE!! now a bunch of Aish-fans who are females will probably come running to defend you-- little realizing that Indian males have been making Indian females into slaves of objects for centuries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aish-FANS-- do better logic than this.
Am a big Sonali fan- but this is wrong . other fans don't worship their stars to such extremes that they can't see what is WRONG IS WRONG. sorry-- saying you don't do fairness creams and doing it is all the more wrong: you're teaching thousands of young fans that it's ok to lie too...
Pathetic pathetic pathetic
Looks like your principles matches Ms. Rai's. very slippery...:
You, Mon, 2009-04-20 16:43, have the guts to actually say you appreciate dusky colour after all that dark maid bash.. which you are so famous for now? And what about your 1st Pinkvilla comments againt Ms. Chopa? recall that?:

--> Bottom Line: Denial and hypocricy does not cover up a GREAT WRONG of the color issue of India. sorry.
atleat aish hav the guts to refuse it now after she realised the real meaning of beauty... i love aishwarya's skin tone as much as priyanka's dusky colour
*come on!!! whats wrong about endorsing fairness products?? its everyones own choice to use them or not so whats the big deal??
sorry I meant ppl must stop promoting...
ppl mut promoting fairness creams and ppl must stop buying them
its disgusting
and btw great post
I dnt knw y ppl making a big fuss abt fairness creams?
Just adds! If u dnt lyk em dnt use em. Let them make money!
funny how the fairest in bollywood kareena and karisma dont endorse any of these..i would think of them as the first choice!..gud for them!- would people buy these creams if goris endorsed the products or if the dusky beauties did that!!!!!!!!DUH
oh and next time smitag, dont forget to tag everyone..
at the end of the day what matters is MONEY
it doesnt matter if they offend people india who are quite tanned
or
it doesnt matter if they r being racist
its all about money!
and people worship these celebs!!!!!
and the worst part of this is that IT DOESN'T WORK
it got oil in it which cause acne and then ur left with acne scars
people just think they will wakeup in mrning with 5 or 6 shades lighter but THEY DONT!
oh yeah.. it's all ok.. cause like it's brightness and tanning stuff are there too... yeah... and Santa and the tooth fairy are all there to say it's ok....
