Aishwarya refuses Bhansali's movie; Sonam fills in
Sort of bad news for Aishwarya fans. Looks like she doesn't want to focus on anything else other than her daughter at the moment. Oh well..!! As long as she is happy. That is all that matters. Her films may have been classified as non-performing assets by the filmi duniya, but Sonam Kapoor is still considered a hot-and-happening star. Even before the ghost of Players is laid to rest at the box office, Sonam’s already — as is her wont — moved on to her next big project. This time, it’s her mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali who’s signed her on. But Sonam — who Sanjay launched in Saawariya — wasn’t the auteur’s first choice. She wasn’t even his second. It seems Sanjay had desperately wanted his muse, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to star in his directorial project. But Ash backed out of the film. Then there was talk that Sanjay had approached Preity Zinta for the same project, but with one thing and another, the bubbly actress couldn’t be finalised either. That was when Sanjay settled on Sonam. “Sanjay sees a lot of potential in Sonam. All she needs is the right script and a good director,” a source revealed. Sonam too confirmed, “I am doing Sanjay’s film.” The project is a crucial one for Sanjay, as he needs to get over Saawariya and Guzaarish. So will this be their lucky chance?

*Sigh* i wish she'd come back and do awesome films with talented directors like Sanjay Leela... but i respect her choice for staying at home and looking after her Daughter... Bless her

hmm... no matter how much i want to see aishwarya back on big screen with bigger and better movies... as an admirer of her professionalism, i am happy to see her doing what she wishes to do.

I don't think that Aish refused the movie she was willing to work when she was 5 month pregnant, Bhansali must though aish is old and fat now and role requires a young fit girl, Bhansali offered this movies in 2000 when she used to be young now she can't do the role.
sonam is the wrong choice as well he sould cast Amy Jackson who is young prettier version of aish

Everytime SLB and ash came together it has been a masterpiece. HDDCS, Devdas and Guzaarish. Even SLB couldn't make Sonam act well (in Saawariya). So I cant tell if this is a good decision or not.
I'm sure she'll do another film with him later... Maybe this one wasn't even considered with her but to make the news more interesting they attached Aishwarya's name to it...Everybody was hopping she'll do SLB's net so...
But as Sujata said, as long as she's happy...And she has worked for 20 years now so she can take a little break :DD
Sigh. Really going to miss Aishwarya. Bollywood is not the same without her. :(
