It's probably long over due, but just wanted to share some still from the making of AISHA- directed by Rajshree Ojha. Starring: Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol, Amrita Puri, Iray Dubey, Cyrus Sahukar, Arunoday Singh, and Lisa Haydon.

I think Lisa Haydon looked absolutely gorgeous in that traditional avatar. I think she still has not fully projected her beauty. I mean this girl has the potential to look drop dead gorgeous but somehow always ruins herself with the makeup or the clothes.

Hi Anon.(Wed, 2012-02-15 06:13)
Yes, you're right. But I read somewhere that Clueless is also an adaptation from Emma (CMIIW).
As for modern adaptation I agree w/ you & Anon. (Wed, 2012-02-15 08:52) it's more clueless & less Emma.
Thanks for correcting me

umm.. i think aisha ruined emma when they twisted jane fairfax's character into boyfriend stealer and did not give the character the proper due coz they wanted sonam to be more important.. it was childish too.. it was more clueless and less emma..

aisha wasn't so much as based on emma as it was based on clueless. watch clueless if you havent, it has heart something aisha has missed.

fyi I LUV Jane Austen's Emma. And Aisha has an interesting concept of Modern adaptation of Emma (despite some flaws). Sonam fit the character quite well, overall it's really fun to watch.

I'm such a huuuuuge 'Emma' fan and i love its desi version!! Even looking at these pictures, Esp Abhay as Mr.Knightley , just breaks my heart!!(In a good way! Like a poignanty, achy-breaky, angsty way!) Can watch this movie a ton of times, sandwitched between the new BBC Adap of Emma with Garai and Johhny lee Miller

Aisha was a fun film, frivolousness included. It is a pity that Gal Mitthi was a part of the end credits and shrunk into a little box...I think it is one of the best wedding sequences ever put together in Hindi cinema. Similarly for the end credits of ZNMD.

it was an AWFUL movie. Utter crap and I am a girl. Just because you put daddy's little girl in the designer duds, doesn't mean that you will have an awesome movie.

<3 this film so much. I know it's not perfect, but it's so much fun, and often such an amazingly accurate representation of upper middle-class youngsters in the subcontinent. It looks like it was fun to make too.
