It is an open-secret that the biggies of every glamour industry conforms to commiting "casting couch". As commoners, we think that it's highly unethical.
However, little did we know that Sunny Leone too was a "victim" of casting couch. Prior to getting the role in Jism 2, she was approached by various producers who were willing to cast her in their film, but only after she did them "favours". She has apparently blatantly refused to those offers and eventually, landed Jism 2. Although, I am an ardent believer against casting couch but given Sunny's history of work, do you think that those producers were out of their minds asking Sunny for "favours"?

fight fight fighttttt. alas only in the virtual world. I'd have loved to see some blood and lots of bruises
@Anon,
yeah your comments get published right away. This may not happen as soon as you join PV but after creating a few posts (each post gives you 5 points) I'm sure that after a certain number of points, your comments get published right away. You don't have to wait which is irritating.
I totally agree that we should start a fanclub ! :) I dont know about benefits but I think your comments get published (which sometimes doesnt when you are not logged in) & you get to create posts ! :)
@Nabby H Yeah Totally !! And even Derek Morgan is quite gorgeous ! :)
Lol AFRADA, I was the one who commented originally. We should start a Dr Reid fanclub or something. I am thinking of joining PV(since i keep the PV tab open always anyway)do you guys get some benefits compared to anons or something?
hahaha AFRADA, his intelligence and knowledge can kick some awesome ass.
Totally out of topic here but .. Am a HUGE criminal minds fan myself ! && Dr Spencer Reid is indeed HOT ! :)
but given Sunny's history of work, do you think that those producers were out of their minds asking Sunny for "favours"?
A porn star is not a hooker. And even a hooker should not be/does not deserve to be sexually harassed or asaulted. Is there any doubt in your mind about that? What a sick question.
------------------------
Do you live in a fantasy world? Casting Couch is a reality in the film world and is very much prevalant in Bollywood! I did ever claim that Sunny is a whore. You seem to be making that comparison in your mind for you to bring it up without me having uttered a single word about it. And please read my explanation below to someone else. If a girl sleeps at a party with a number of boys, the next guy wanting to sleep with her will think she's easy and yes, that's how MOST human brains work. Perhaps, yours is on a different level. This is just an example (not from Sunny's life of course). And yes, given the fact that many girls (perhaps, probably very innocent-sexually) who come to look for work in Bollywood are subjected to this (which is atrocious) but filmmakers do expect it from them. Do you think given Sunny's background of work, it doesn't excite/make filmmakers think that she's a "likely prey"? Do you have a hard time understanding how human psychology works? I for sure did not call Sunny a whore. Perhaps, you think that in your head. That's up for another debate.
Never judge the book by its cover...... DEAR SUNNY UR EYES ARE SO PURE AND DEEP, UR HEAR LOOKS PURE AND i KNOW U ARE INNOCENT INSIDE .........I WISH U ALL THE BEST.....YES LIKE U SAID U CAN'T ERASE THE PAST BECAUSE, WHERE U ARE NOW IT IS BECAUSE WAT U DID.....HAVE NO REGRETS AND BUT FROM NOW ON DO GOOD IN LIFE..............AND MOVE FORWARD AND FORGET THE REST!!!
GOD BLESS YOU HONEY!!
MOMO FROM HONG KONG (NEPALI)

New@ nabby H i don't want to get into an argument with you but what is the point of posing that question anyway? Realistic or not, its an unethical thing to do and your question will make people doubt that. Its like contemplating whether a person was raped because of the clothes she wears, why would one waste time on the reasons when they should be thinking of the wrongness of it all(unless you want to go behind their psyche or something! Criminal minds :) ) You should remove your question, i think. Anywho, i am not the previous anon.
Sry for the severe comparison to rape but thats what popped into my mind,since many people have their doubts about that too.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a discussion forum. Btw, LOVE Criminal Minds. Dr. Reid ftw! Hahahaha. I have nothing against Sunny as many other people do due to her pornstar status. Would I choose this for myself as career path? No. Do I care if others do? No. However, what I was trying to say is and perhaps, I didn’t do a very good job of explaining my point, many girls who come from a non-pornstar background trying to make it into bollywood who are subjected to casting couch (meritocracy counts very little) and some fall prey to this ghastly phenomenon. Producers apparently expect that from these people. However, Sunny coming from a particular background makes her “not an easy prey” but a “likely prey”. For instance, if a girl at a party sleeps with 4 guys from a group of friends, the 5th friend is likely to assume that she is “easy” and will sleep with him as well. That’s the mentality of these producers (not mine). That’s how the general public thinks as people perceive you based on your personality, career path, past experiences etc. In that sense, it’s not “unrealistic” of these producers to ask Sunny of such a favour. However, if she defies them, I would only applaud.

If youre going to attack me about my reading skills why dont I explain the fact that the way i read it is correct based on the english grammar you chose :
"Although, I am an ardent believer against casting couch - this line states youre against casting couches
when you use BUT right after that sentence, it means your posing a doubt or counter belief which you are when you say "but given Sunny's history of work". although youre just asking a question, its posed in a manner any fluent english speaker would consider a doubt in your own mind since you are talking in first person narrative in that sentence...
NEXT TIME, try not to lash out at someone who understands english, and try not to tell them they are incapable of understanding something, when you are quite unaware of your own writing. Grammar while writing is quite powerful and can change meanings of entire sentences .. I think YOU are the one that needs to PROOFREAD your own writing once or as you say IF NEED BE, READ SEVERAL TIMES.
I was just merely explaining in my comment that you're contradicting yourself, which you are quite clearly in that sentence. You may have meant something else but your writting did not state that. So pardon me if I got your writting wrong because you could not clearly convey YOUR message. :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know this is a bit old and you may not read this but you were not attacking my "writing skills". You clearly went onto saying that I called her profession as unethical and she should be subjected to atrocious activities/circumstances! Please go read what you wrote again.
Secondly, as an English reader and I've grown up speaking/reading/writing/breathing English in and out of home (yes, because my mother is not India and she can't speak Hindi) and in my comment I have said that I am a strong against all the casting couch that goes on BUT given Sunny's profession, is it unrealistic of filmmakers to ask her of favours? THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I AM COMTEMPLATING MY OWN THOUGHTS OF BEING AGAINST CASTING COUCH BUT RATHER WONDERING IF THE FILMMAKERS HAVE UNREALISTIC DEMANDS FROM HER. This is no way my dear, is a comma-splice/English grammar error. I hope you read this! \
And please don't say that you were trying to clarify your stance. Your first comment went onto attacking my thoughts which the other readers seemed to eloquently understand.
"Although, I am an ardent believer against casting couch but given Sunny's history of work, do you think that those producers were out of their minds asking Sunny for "favours"?"

umm girls are these days so desparate to be celebrities and practically go clothless that casting couch is very common
@NABBY H. Well said!

I bet you she did a "favor" to the producer that was willing to pay her the most!!!.

Bingo - you hit the nail on the head. Sunny may be a porn star but she's no dummy.
She aligned herself with the people who made the best offer and now she's got starring roles lined up in not one but two movies. Others have probably done more work on the casting couch than she has and only got an unpaid item number for their troubles.

How can you talk about ethics and then have the guts to ask that question in your last sentence? Ethics doesn't hold to a person based on their profession .. thats just plain ridiculous. If you are on one side saying it is unethical for newcomers to undergo that situation, then it should hold true for ANYONE. Based purely on ethics, it should not matter what their profession is or what they do in their lives. What she chose to do is HER desicion and if she is satisfied with her life, which she has said many times, then it should not matter to everyone else. Especially since indian men do watch her films too .. if they have the guts to watch those movies then they have no right to go around bashing her for making them ...
---------------------------------------------------
I did not say that being in porn is unethical/ethical. That's not I'm commenting on. You're quite the dimwit or just ready to attack people to vent out your frustration. I called the whole case of "CASTING COUCH" unethical which I hold true to. I highly believe that any line of profession, people should be given promotion and achieve success on the merit of their hardwork and dedication. Particular to film line, I don't think that anyone should be able to get a film just because they can easily shed clothes, or bring audience to the theatre based on unnecessary sexual display (that does not enhance the film but is there to draw some attention). Whether it's Sunny or any other actress, porn star or not, I hold true to that. However, the question I posed does not question Sunny's ethics but rather her being a porn star is taken for granted and producers think that she'll bestow "favours" on them. As a logical person, I would say most people would think that Sunny would give in. But as Sunny is claiming that she did not, BRAVO to her for that! I have nothing against any pornstar and nor do I really care for them. In no way, Sunny's ethics were being questioned.
READ BEFORE YOU JUDGE. IF NEED BE, READ SEVERAL TIMES.
GOOD DAY.

PV PLEASE POST THIS
How on earth did she get Jism 2 using the casting couch? She was just handed the role by Bhatt to her while she was in the house. Unless you're trying to imply they had sex in the bathroom afterwards? It's funny how "conservative" types are actually the most twisted in the mind. They pretend to be "conservative" and "traditional" probably because they feel guilty about their sick thoughts inside.
pleez..n how do u think she got jism 2?
----------------------------------------
she invested her own money, she is a millionaire and owns her own porn compony.
pleez..n how do u think she got jism 2?
i think they had no right to ask her....just bc she did porn doesnt mean she will do anythign with anyone...get a reality check people!
@Thu, 2012-04-26 11:30 — Anonymous
couldn't agree with you more, her character and heart defines who she is, not others. Ppl r so judgmental and insecure with their own lives and here comes a strong woman who has broken out of the mold, to make her own identity. she's not defined by being an indian, american or bc of her heritage, she's just simple Sunny.
I also agree that ppl would stop picking on her cus she's not here to please them, so y should she live her life according to their standards? stop being such hypocrites.
obviously not
Thu, 2012-04-26 12:05 — starving4attention
i totally agreeeeeeeeeee
uhhh oi hello dude they probably thought she would agree to do 'favours' for them given her history of being acting in pornos. They probably thought its no big deal for her to you know, do 'favours' for them since she does that for a living
I bet you she did a "favor" to the producer that was willing to pay her the most!!!

oh let the floodgates of hate/hypocritical comments by the small minded ppl be open PV. I can already predict the obscene comments along the lines of, 'oh she's already a porn star, so what's wrong with spreading her legs to these producers.' Sunny has her own identity and she's a very determined woman who knows what she wants, if the narrow minded ppl can't digest that then instead of insulting her y don't u just ignore her? The hypocrites r the ones who usually make such comments r the ones who don't have any thing of value or depth to say, so they resort to cheap shots with superficial feelings bc it makes them feel like less of a loser. only dirty minds speak dirty things.
