When asked about her absence from hindi cinema post "Chand Sa Roshan Chehra" in 2005 which was her launching film, she replied, "I sign films that I enjoy watching as an audience and Himmatwala is one such movie and therefore I signed it after waiting for so long. While I was working down South, I got many offers but nothing interested me as an audience."

Why all r criticizing Tamanna this much?She is nt at all a hypocrite.Only by seeing those two lines here so many r attacking her.I had seen this interview in which she said this.Only when she was asked about bikini and other adjustments, she replied to it by saying this just to close out the rumours.Other than that she didnt claim anything like she didnt expose,didnt do erotic scenes or she is a sati savitri or something.Upto now,in any of her interviews she didnt blame anyone in anyway and she is a very gentle person who is very acceptable to everyone in cine field.

I think its sufficient to say that showing your stomach is no big deal and even a bikini top...but a bikini bottom is a whole differene game! I mean thats ur ass and ur most imtimate part just covered with a flingy cloth!!! Personally i appreciate her for not wearing a bikini...look at her body. I totally agree with Gohar! Sometimes those bikini scenes also don't look vulgar for example, the one in Cocktail.. But the movies I've seen of this hypocrite woman's are so vulgar and literally objectify women as a showpiece, getting drenched in the rain, close up shots of exposed body parts(usually the waist in a very distasteful way) with the hero touching, pinching, thrusting his face on the naked waist and it is so gross to watch! So she has done all this in her movies but is now portraying like she would never wear a bikini? Utter rubbish!

she pretty much wears a bikini top with tiny shorts which is pretty close....so to those who defend her, i would say she *is* a hypocrite actually. its no secret that if anyone exposes to make money, its her! most north indian girls in the southern film industry expose in such an "IN YOUR FACE" way, like shriya saran, simran and ileana d'cruz to name a few. i feel like the actual southerners like asin, samantha, trisha, sneha are less likely to do so, and even when they do expose, it never looks vulgar for some reason - (nayanthara is the biggest exception, she is seriously trashy). B'wood actresses need to realise what they are saying and what kinds of hypocritical statements they are giving...she says she "will not don a bikini"- the song 'naino main sapna' has her showing ample skin and the other song where she wears the shortest of dresses where she can easily have a wardrobe malfunction. like seriously what do they gain by giving such derogatory statements? these actresses after reaching a certain stage in their life and career start to think from their derriere and forget that people DO notice them dressed ever so scantily!

What a hypocrite! Almost every outfit she wears is a bra-like blouse, a sari tied far below the navel and a thin pallu that seldom stays in place! The parts she exposes are then thrust into the hero's face and run over by the hero's hands! Vulgar and distasteful to watch. Any day a woman wearing a bikini in an appropriate setting and with a natural air is far, far better than these kind of faux sati savitri statements!

All bollywood actresses veer on the line of the savitri/slutty line. They need to be sexy but be all virginal looking as well. lol! It's kind of hilarious but such is the demand of the audiences. So while skin show in sari is still acceptably desi, a bikini is too modern and moves into the too western, slutty zone. She's just catering to the demand.
@starlight - It's hard to believe that someone would cast 13 even 15 years old girl as a romantic heroine in 2005... I mean it was normal from 50th to 90th but not in 2000... She doesn't look like 13 years old here...

I remember Mahesh Bhatt's one interview when he was asked about skin show and kissing scenes in all Bhatts movies and he said Neil ‘N’ Nikki — a family film from Yash Raj Films—had more tit and ass ( pardon my language it's his words LOL) than Kalyug ( which was about porn industry)...
