When it comes to skin, there are products that suit one kind and react badly with another. From dry skin to oily to normal to combination skin, ensuring that it stays smooth and supple is never easy. Blemishes, pimples, dark spots, bumps and multiple other problems occur on the skin based on weather, hormones and many other factors. The most important way to deal with all this, is to come up with a skincare routine which skits your skin type. Read on to know the routine you need to follow.

Oily skin

Start off by cleansing your skin with cleansing foam. Pat dry.
Use a toner to close all the open pores on your skin, preferably a toner with hydrosol which is distilled water.
Hydrate your skin with a light lotion. Ensure you don't slather on too much so your skin doesn't become oily.
Do your makeup as usual.
Dab on a light layer of translucent powder to ensure your skin remains matte.

Dry skin

Rinse your face with warm water to open up the pores.
Hydrate your skin with a heavy moisturiser.
Do your makeup as usual and complete it with a spritz of rose water. Carry a small quantity of this with you at all times to keep your skin hydrated.

Combination skin

Use a mild cleansing foam to clean your face once you wake up.
Use a mild toner and dab it on your T-zone.
Hydrate your skin. Instead of opting for a moisturiser, pick out a rich face serum instead as this will help with the combination of dry and oily skin.

Normal skin

Use a cleansing foam to cleanse your face as soon as you wake up.
Hydrate your skin with a simple moisturiser or essential oil.
Do your makeup as usual.

Sensitive skin

Rinse your face with lukewarm water.
Hydrate your skin with a moisturiser which contains neutral elements and essential oils that don't react with the skin.
Go about your normal makeup routine.

In addition to this, one ingredient every person must use, irrespective of their skin type, is sunscreen which needs to be applied no matter what weather or climate. Not applying sun screen can do more harm than good to the skin.
