The overkill of the fishtail braid

We love that our actresses have given plain Jane straight hair a boot. We love that they are experimenting with their hairstyles. What we are not loving is the overkill of the fishtail braid!

Popularized by Blake Lively on Gossip Girl, the B-town brigade adopted this look as a stylish alternative-chic, apt for any occasion and a good cover up for a bad hair day. But there is something known as too much of a good thing!

Deepika is a clear fan and so are Sonam and Bipasha. Piggy Chops who is not one to play around with her straight tresses, only changes it up with this braided look. A host of other ladies too are going this route; be it for movie promotions or red carpet appearances.

What we would like to see now is something new, edgier, a hair style that pushes the envelope. Let’s see who surprises us first!
