Bipasha basu in a Rocky s lehenga at the 7 wonders ceremony at Lisbon. The midriff and the cleavage show at an international event when you are representing India was totally uncalled for.
Mallika sherawat in a rocky s outfit at TIFF promoting her movie Myth. Well what can one expect of Mallika sherawat?
Anyways what do you girls think? Why cant the celebs dress in a non slutty way ? Can an indian attire not look glamorous without being slutty?

i dont even know why ash was brought into this conversation. the world doesnot revolve around her. and puhleez, she did pretty bad numbers which would even give mallika sherrawat a run for her money(the black cape thing in 2003, the pink studded boob device in 2003 as well, the cutout pushup beige dress in 2004 to name a few) . her dressing has improved loads in the last two yrs, that tells u that repeat exposure make a person wiser in their choices. even looking @mallika, the recnt yellow dress was such a beauty. give piggy chops and bips a few more times and they'll be rocking as well.
if u wanna talk about an indian gal dressing fabolously from the get go, my pick would be freida pinto.

yes of course indian actresses can be dressed in indian outfits and be beautiful! just take a look at some piks madhuri, sri devi and asin at some events. these women above (PC, bips, malika) look sexy and trashy. but mads, sri, vidya and asin in indian outfits look beautiful, elegant, honourable and they represent indian culture for what it is. not what the west wants it to be so they can join in.

this is what these so called actresses try to do when they make international appearances. They try to give off this image that they are BW goddesses by appearing in these crazy saris. You know for someone like Aishwarya who takes criticism for her choice of outfits at times, never appeared in indian wear as cheap as this. Some of it may have been ugly but it wasn't anything like this.

in the west bearing ur midriff at a formal event is considered sleazy to begin with. any dress with cut outs is a complete no no.showing cleavage is considered better than the belly button display. when u r wearing the saree right way as well, ur tummy is kind of covered, u can see it a bit, that way it seems mysterious and not in ur face. they bolly chicks r trying too hard, IMO
