Pakistani Bridal's getting better !!

CREDIT : ALL PICTURES ARE SOURCED FROM GUPSHUP FORUMS.

Firstly I am an Indian.

But lately all the Indian Bridal weeks that have been showing the latest bridal trends in India has got me worried. Everything is OTT. The fabrics being used are terrible. The is no fine work anymore, its all big and bling bling !! The color are too "jhatak " . Nothing is making me go "wow" anymore.

Speaking strictly from bridal point of view : While Pakistani cuts and drapes are not what we Indians would wear, its a bit tooo conservative too many yards of fabric here and to me bridal means either sari or ghagara choli. I don't like these long tops over skirts !!! But speaking of the craftsmanship , fabric and color schemes are amazing.

Yea sure we are more open to changes and have more garments to work with, In India we do all kinds of clothing, I Pakistan there is only salwar kameez and bridal wear and Indian designers cater to the Int'l market as well and by tht I dont mean Indian living abroad but actual foreigners. Case in point Falguni and Shane Peacock, Naseem Khan !!!

I am not trying to say one is better than the other, so please refrain from negative commentating. India used to do this before so its not all this work is nothing new. So where have all the embroiderers gone. But I just feel Indian designer are not giving importance to "karigiri" any more.

But Pakistani designer can no way compare to Indians in salwar kameez, their idea of those loose pants and capris to wear under the kameez just make me faint !!! And western , umm the less said the better !!

Anyway so here are a few pics that I found

i agree... Pakistani bridal wear is more royal, detailed and you can see the hard work designers put in their designs and it really looks like a special dress of the bride...where as Indian designers are not paying much attention to embroidery and i only see patches of different fabrics joined together,(atleast this is sbya and MM do) their designs are less sophisticated more blingy and filmy.and the jewelry Indian brides wear is not pretty as well.

So true! I completely agree and I am neither pakistani nor indian.

I can see the indian influence, also you can see the indian embroidery and style being used. This was in fashion in india in the 90's. You can still get this bridal made in India or find it in the designers catalog but the indian fashion scene has changed drastically, what they put on the runway is an experiment and for runway purpose appropriate, if they kept doing the same work over and over there would be no purpose for a runway and to attract clients. Rani, Karisma, Maduri have worn this embroidery many of times and the cuts well if you follow fashion you will see the exclusive indian designer touch. Pakistan is just taking waht they like and implmenting it into their designs and making it work for there muslim clients.

I can see the indian influence. This was in style in india in the 90's. India is changing its runway for a the experiment, you can still find this in india but not on the runway.

Hate to break it to you but these are all Indian designs.

Besides, why do they even wear fancy clothes. It's not as if their men will actually notice it on them!
