For being the erstwhile last word in formal wear to being a chic, statement making wardrobe staple today, the blazer has come a long way. Initially preferred in basic and boring black, the blazer is now being adopted in its more versatile and fun avatars.

Actresses these days have become partial to coloured blazers. From romantic reds, canary yellow and powder pink, they are sporting a rainbow of colours; teaming these blazers with denims, shorts, rompers and dresses.

And for the more adventurous, printed seems to be the way to go. Textures such as sequins and tweed are finding many takers too. Upcoming designer Masaba Gupta has become a quick favourite for quirky prints and the likes of Sonam Kapoor, Neha Dhupia and Mandira are champions of her designs.
