Haper's bazaar has braids as one of the top hair trends to try in this spring of 2012. Seems like our stars are quick to catch on. Many of them are sporting lovely braids lately.

Traditionally, unmarried Indian women wore two braids. When she got married, she began to keep her hair in a single braid. Also, pieces of ribbon were incorporated into the braid and adorned with colorful clips and accessories. In many south Indian weddings, it is customary for the bride to wear a single long braid decorated with Jasmine flowers. Interesting, isn't it?

Having said it all, our bollywood beauties do look awesome, sporting these braids. It also gives them a slightly traditional look, doesn't it? Your thoughts? you like?

Is this trend only for one braid on the side? All of them are sporting the same way. Good eye Bolly-Freak, I hadn't realized the pattern in their hairstyles. Also nice to know about the 2-braid and 1-braid history.
