I am an Indian by descent, but I really dont understand the bias Indians have for their own....if these models were Indian, the very same people who think they are not pretty would be praising them to the heavens. Please people learn to express opinions honestly.

These clothes are just wow, they are really superior in terms of cut to the Indian outfits. Afterall these are the ethnic clothes of Pakistan. The ethnic outfit of India is the sari and we are masters at that."

well they are from different designers in Pakistan, most of them ship outside Pakistan and have outlets across the globe. I THINK the poster somewhere down there in the comments mentioned about the names of designers.

though, I think it would have been nicer, if the starter of the thread would have written down designer name next to every picture.

sorry guys i find this line of 'bridal couture' uninspiring to say the least , as i do with most of Indian 'bridal couture' aswell . Look honestly speaking these lehenga style clothes are only worn by a small portion of Indians during weddings mostly traditional north-Indians. The people from the north-east, south, and to some extent west would never wear this style but their own traditional outfits to their weddings. India is a very very diverse and vast country , but sadly only the north-indian style of a 'dream wedding outfit' is always show cased in Indian fashion shows. how about showcasing a manipuri, assami outfit like a innaphi, phanek, sarong in a fashion show....i know that no self-respecting south-indian would touch one of these outfits on their wedding if you paid her to do it, they are highly scornful of this kind of outfits where bits and pieces of net, butta, mesh are all stitched together to create this confusion of an outfit, a south-indian wedding is very celestial like with classic 100% pure kancheevaram silks woven together and the zari work is made of actual silver thread. you just have to take a look at a bhartnatyam dancer to get some inspiration. but bollywood designers , design the same old boring fake rhinestones, colorful patchwork teacosy with lots 'work' and sell it for millions to dumb customers. now finally coming to this discussion on skin color, i don't know abut pakistan but india is racially a very diverse country as, the people from the north east have different facial features and color tones as do the south Indians. But i have noticed this obsession of being white only among the wheatish northindians, the south indians are burnt brown/black and no amount of 'makeup' can whiten skin and in southindian culture some of the darkest people are considered the best looking, similarly northeastern people have a yellow undertone and dont bleach their skin to look white. i think the controversy is with non-uniformity in color among north-indians unlike northeastern and soutindian people where there is uniformity in color of skin. because some norhtindians are wheatish and the rest are whiter , there is a kind of comparison and the conventional idea of beauty is thought to be a white skinned girl and hence the obcession to pile makeup on to look whiter. it is more sad more than anything and these people need help.

......................................................................................

I perfectly see your point here. I am not indian and have never been to India. These outfits look like the same outfits that I would see in Indian weddings in Bollywood movies and this is where I get my reference from. You classified me as a "dumb customers", well, I am a currently doing a double degree, psyc/law with a major in law, and I dont think I would fit into the "dumb" category. I would love to discover these outfits you are telling about in the South and East. I know about the Bharatnatyum, I am in absolute awe of the class, precision of movements to go with the facial expressions and the outfit of course. As to the East I don't think I have seen any eastern outfit? India is diverse just like Pakistan is. It seems to me that only a handful of people from both countries influence the modern culture, shape certain areas of society and this is what is picked up by foreign media. We are shown only what is being shown to the media. I believe in Education and equality for all. I hope that change will finally come where we will get to see more diverse people, diverse fashion show, diverse inspiration from diverse part of Pakistan and India. As an outsider who know people of both countries, I absolutely enjoy their company, love and respect their cultures. Conflicts exist everywhere, the approach to be taken as to the possible reasons of conflicts and solutions are to be done in good faith. Insulting each other on websites, youtube videos, really, is that what the world has come down to?

u fool no country or nation supports acts of terrorism, these are individual acts
of some indigenous groups and people...you cannot label or generalize an entire nation for
being bigot and terrorizing...this is really stupid..

Hum me se kisi ko nahi pata ke humara anjaam kya hay is liye her koi dosroon ko jhanami keh ker apna waqt barbad kerne ke bajae apni fikr rakhe, yeh decissions Allah Taa'la ke kerne ke hain bandoon ke nahi, banda apni haad me rahe tu behtar hay . Akhlaq ka meezane amal me buhat bara wazan hay isliye insaan apna Akhlaq acha rakhe tu apna hi faida hay aur agar koi khalat lage ya hay tu us ke liye Dua kerte rehna chahiye na ke bura bhala kahe :)

Every person ,every nation and every society has their own problems and their own issues to deal with.Neither every person , every nation and every society is 100% perfect nor 100% imperfect, though everyone thinks that they are the best in this world,so instead of dissing each other use your patriotism in a positive way,do something for your own,for your country and for your society betterment. And from this post if you like the dresses and you cannot buy it still then you can take some ideas for yourself from here and if you don't like it you can simply ignore it and move on.
