i see alot of 'sana safinaz' and HSY stuff copied in his newcollection, the stuff is 2seasons old by pakistanistandard but great to seeindian people following up in wordwide trends!

Pakistani invented trouser/capris and long open shirt style in 2010, and now its your top designers who are so inspired that they are trying to get INSPIRATION FROM our stuff, but too bad, given the fact indian embroidery is so not elegant and so loud, they cant even come close to our embelishment... if it makes you feel better that we are copying your design, continue with this crap, we dont give a damn??? when we have like tons of variety in shalwar kameez styles unlike what you get in india and also, your phrase that we die for indian stuff, oh man, you are truly a mad case, i know of many indian here , who buy pakistani designer wear or order online or get from dubai, get your facts right, and dont be sucha hater. this hatred will not get you anywhere. oh btw, you might want to check tons of pakistani fashion post on pinkvilla where indian are in high praise of pakistani fabric and work, so please look beyong this hatred and you will learn to appreciate good things.

Being a Punjabi Indian, I have nothing in common with Pakistani Punjabis. They are ignorant and illiterate at best (I live in Amsterdam and know many Pakistanis who want everything from India whenever we visit India). Secondly, read the interviews by the Pakistani designers to know who gets inspired by whom and who visits all Indian fashion weeks just for the ''inspiration'.
Indian fashion industry is the biggest in Asia (google it) and even retails stores here are filled with clothes from Indian fashion houses. Pakistan is nowhere in the picture nor it ever will be as its people are so hateful and filled with disgust. Just look at their guts at accusing Indian designers of copying, biggest joke of the century!

i can see some concepts r inspired but the current trends in pak fashion (in the last decade) but he has infused them with soem very indian concepts. looks nice!

I think on both sides, designers try to get inspiration from each other, however i have to say that when it comes to desi outifits, formal/evening and bridal wear, Pakistan takes the cake, they are wonderful at it.

Really I'm Pakistani & I think there clothes look GREAT, they are definatley a BIG improvement on some of our designs, hence I like these much better, I might get the 2nd one for my wedding because it so beautiful! Great clothes Manish, well done..LOVE from Pakistan

I have always loved Manish Malhotra, he comes up with some amazing designs. Does anyone know how much any of these dresses would cost? I understand that he customizes and prices it accordingly but I need a rough idea before I approach his store. I'm looking at something like #2 or #3 for my wedding.
im an india n i come to indian sites and designers but iv seen my paki friends wear des designs since past 2 years so i do feel dis is inspired from paki fashion

i'm punjabi (indian) and i have more in common with my pakistani counterparts than south indians, gujratis, bengalis, etc. lahore and amritsar are 30 miles apart. the people creating rife between us are extremist hindus.

Fashion is Subjective, not everything that top designers design such as Prada, Gucci, Versace can be worn by normal people like you and me - it’s a way of expression! Can u guys plz stop comparing pakistani fashion with Indian - becoz they both are different nations with different markets, it’s clear that India is trying to compete with a broader international market, while Paki is still sticking to its own & doing nothing innovative or creative for that matter! Let the truth be told. (Advice: If you like Paki stuff so much, go to a Paki site - because u wouldn't go to a Paki site and criticize them because we all know how tolerate they are, they would just tell u to get F*** off )
who wears these extremely long kameez? They are so impractical for daily living.
I've hardly seen anyone wear these types of clothes in Pune, Mumbai. Most of the 20 something crowd wears kurtis with jeans, other Western clothes, or knee lengh salwar kameez.

The origins of everything that is "pakistani" is in fact indian. So it's more like the other way around, pakistani fashion copies Indian clothes. So much for having your own identity huh? pakistani fashion and culture is both distinct and similar to indian fashion and culture. to say that it is a "copy" of it wud be an ignorant and somewhat hateful statement. sarees are not very popular in pakistani fashion although they do come in here in there (the lace sarees were in a couple years ago). shalwar kameez is the main attire and this keeps alternating in style. pakistanis share there culture with indian punjabis and indian muslims for the most part. abu jani and sandeep khosla were likely influenced by pakistani trends as well. there is nothing shameful in admitting that. designers always draw influence from other regions and cultures. stop hating. and refrain from that term "paki"

i think its nice to see pakistani fashion reaching India. I've always liked the clothes that my friends buy from pak. i hope these become mainstream as i wud love to buy some. the long flowy kurtas are so glamourous and elegant. i feel manish's have some indian influence as well. i love the deep revealing necks.
Shalwar kameez is indeed an indian and pakistani creation, BUT the difference is the style! In India, long kameez's to the ankles are unheard of. Btw I am Indian and have been to India (U.P) recently to visit family (I live in London). I wore all my pakistani clothes and everyone was looking at me in India and commenting that they had never seen a kameez so long and it was impossible to find a kameez/frock that long in India. Hence the long kameez style is a pakistani trend and it looks like its catching on in India now. I only buy pakistani suits as the styles are amazing and are gorgeous to wear.
My indian family loved my clothes so much they are now asking the tailors there to sew pakistani style long kameez's! So its going to catch on I think. :-)
I agree with Flower!!! I never had an idea about Indian and Pakistani fashion but by looking at different posts of Indian and Pakistani fashion on PV I like Pakistani dresses and Pakistani Models more :)

In the world of fashion...designers get inspired by each other. Like the runways in America, all have some similarities...whatever is huge in the world of fashion, catches on and designers include it in their collection to keep up with that trend (or to create trends). For example, skirts in the US that are popular for the spring are the ones that are short at the front, and a little longer at the back...manish has incorporated that into his designs...is that a bad thing?...no not really because like most fashion designers he's using what's huge right now and making it his own through his collection. So I really don't see the big deal if someone pointed out that he was inspired by something by a Pakistani designer, because obviously fashion inspires other fashion. Just like I'm sure many pakistani designers are inspired by work by some indian designers.
It's a fashion thing...let's not turn it into an opportunity to start slinging mud at another country.
Gorgeous collection. loving it this time and yes he's trying to tone it down a bit cause Sabyasachi is fast reaching high.
Most of the models are really unimpressive looking and specially the guys. not at all good looking, forget the physique.
As for stealing designs. perhaps it is inspired by Pakistani designs but wrong to say it's a copy. These designs pre-existed in INDIA since forever. get ur facts straight.
