Triphala is an ayurvedic weight loss supplement and it comprises three (tri) fruits (phal)- Amla or Indian gooseberry, Behada and Harada. Speaking of Amla, the same is loaded with antioxidants and helps remove toxins and free radicals from the body, thus adding weight loss as inflammation is one of the causes of weight gain. Coming to Behada which is also known as Bibhitaki, the same is also very nutritious. It helps to regulate cholesterol levels and helps in the production of healthy plasma, muscles and bones.

On the other hand, Harada aka Haritaki is also known as a universal panacea as there are several health benefits. Inclusion of Triphala aids digestion by removing toxins and rejuvenates the overall digestive system. It also helps to retain vital fluids and removes water weight or excess water as well. How to consume Triphala

You can add its powder in either cold water or warm water. For cold preparation, one can add two teaspoons of powder in a glass of water and let it soak overnight. Drink the same the first thing in the morning. One can also add honey and cinnamon as well.

For the warm water concoction, add a tablespoon of Triphala powder in a glass of water and let it soak overnight. Later, in the morning, boil this water until it reduces to half. Let it cool for some time and drink it in one go. If you are a tea lover, then you replace the normal one with this tea. One can also consume the Triphala tablet as well. 

Aside from weight loss, it also aids to boost metabolism and immunity, reduces bad cholesterol, makes you feel energetic and prevents microbial infections. One of the side effects of the Triphala is that it can lead to more bowel movements as it acts as a laxative.
