We all shop and always end up splurging without noticing. It’s important to not just work and earn smart but also spend smart. Here are a few ways that will help you spend your money wisely.

  • Lists

Always make a list of things you need and stick to your list. Buy only what you need and nothing more. Don’t add unnecessary things to your list.

  • Negotiate

When buying from a local store, try to bargain and buy things at a good price. Try to negotiate and bring the price down or get a deal on the things you’re buying. Don’t blindly buy without negotiating because the shopkeeper quoted a reasonable price.

  • Compare

Whenever you buy something, check how much you’re getting the same thing for in other stores or markets or online. Always check and compare the price of the things you buy and buy it from the place that gives you a good deal and good quality at a reasonable cost.

  • Coupons/Cashback

Before buying always check if you can get a deal, discount coupon or cash back. Some stores offer cash back on the mode of payment and some have discount coupons. Apps like Nearbuy, CouponDunia, and Little offer some amazing deals and discounts on almost everything.

  • Impulsive shopping

Do not shop impulsively. Even if you fall in love with something don’t simply buy it because it looks pretty or because you love it. Compare the prices and check if what you’re buying is worthy of the money you’re spending on it. Only buy if it’s value for money. Don’t buy it if you don’t need it even if it’s value for money. Value for money is not an excuse to buy unnecessary things.

  • Avoid Credit Cards

That’s a cycle you never want to get into. Do not use credit cards. Don’t spend the money you don’t have. Use your debit card and hide your credit card. Use your credit card only if there’s an emergency situation and there’s no other way out.
