Olive oil and high BP

Many studies have shown that the usage of this oil can actually bring down BP levels. As per research, the oil reduced the need for blood pressure medicines by not one or two but by 48 percent. The studies which were done in Barcelona, Spain checked the clinical as well as the biological effects the oil had.

The results of the study showed that people who regularly consumed olive oil are less likely to develop cardiovascular ailments including high BP. Olive oil has a polyphenol in it and that's what aids to regulate blood pressure. For the unversed, polyphenols are inflammation-fighting compounds and also it is low in saturated fat.

Speaking of Saturated fat, the same increases the low-density lipoproteins (LDL) or ‘bad’ cholesterol in blood but if you start having oils such as olive oil which has mono-saturated spreads then the same helps to bring down harmful LDL cholesterol and boosts the good aka high-density lipoproteins (HDL) cholesterol.
