There are many reasons that lead to hair fall such as unhealthy diet, stress, improper sleep, hormonal imbalance, overuse of dyes etc. You can control hair fall with certain remedies at home that are natural and give you desired results.

  1. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a great home remedy to treat hair loss. It plays a crucial role in balancing the pH levels of the hair and scalp. It penetrates deep into the scalp, thereby promoting hair growth. Extract the pulp from aloe vera leaves or stalk and rub it into your hair. Keep massaging in circular motions. Leave it in the hair for about 15 minutes before you rinse it off. Do this thrice a week to see the results.

The presence of sulphur in onion makes it a great remedy for hair loss. The sulphur content improves blood circulation to the hair follicles and promotes hair growth. It also has antibacterial properties, which eliminates bacteria that can cause scalp infections. Extract onion juice, dip a cotton ball in it and apply it all over your hair. Leave it for about 30 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water. Repeat this once a week to see the difference.

Coconut Milk is rich in essential fats, proteins, minerals and other nutrients. The milk is rich in potassium, which is vital ingredient for the hair. It helps to reduce breakage of hair and strengthens your hair straight from the root. Grate coconut and squeeze its milk. Apply this to your hair and leave it for about 20 minutes. Repeat this process once a week.

Neem has excellent antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, which not only helps the follicles to become stronger but also prevents dandruff. It also promotes blood flow to the skin, thereby nourishing hair roots. Take 10-12 neem leaves and boil in water till the water reduces to half its quantity. Wait for the mixture to cool and then apply it to your hair. Leave it for 20 minutes then wash it off. Repeat this twice every week.

Beetroot is rich in vitamin C, B6, folate, magnesium, betaine and potassium; all of this is essential for healthy hair growth. It also acts as a detoxifying agent and keeps the scalp clean. Take 7-8 beetroot leaves and boil it in water till the water reduces to half its quantity. Apply the mixture to your hair once its cold. Leave it for 20 minutes before you rinse it off. Repeat this twice every week.

Green tea is rich in antioxidants and therefore it a great remedy for hair loss. It boosts hair growth and prevents hair loss. Soak 2-3 bags of green tea in one-two cups of hot water depending on the length of your hair. When it cools, pour it on your scalp and hair. Gently massage it and rinse it with cold water after an hour. Repeat it twice a week for desired results.

Amla or Indian Gooseberry is rich in vitamin C, an ingredient essential for the growth and strengthening of hair. It also helps to build collagen, which is essential for hair growth. Amla also prevents premature greying of hair. The anti-inflammatory and exfoliating properties of amla help to promote faster growth of hair and maintain a healthy scalp. Boil the dried amla with coconut oil till the oil becomes black. Let it cool down and then massage your hair. Leave it for 20 minutes. Repeat this twice a week for results.

  1. Greek Yogurt & Honey

Greek yogurt is called the natural conditioner for the hair. It contains vitamin B5 and proteins, which are highly beneficial for your hair. Honey has antibacterial properties, which prevents your hair from damage. Take a bowl; add two tablespoons of greek yogurt, one tablespoon of lemon and honey. Mix it well and apply it on your scalp using a hair dye brush. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat this once a week.

  1. Methi (Fenugreek Seeds)

Fenugreek seeds help in rebuilding hair follicles and enhance hair growth. It is one of the most effective remedies to stop hair fall. Soak methi seeds overnight. Grind the seeds the next morning to make a paste. Apply this paste on your hair from root to tip. Leave it for about 40 minutes and then rinse it off using cold water. 

  1. Egg Mask

Eggs are rich in sulphur, phosphorus, selenium, iodine, zinc and protein, which together promote healthy hair. Break open two eggs in a bowl and separate the yolks from the egg white. Mix the egg white thoroughly till you get a thick and even consistency. Apply the mask to your hair using a hair dye brush. Leave it for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water. Repeat this twice every week.
