Let’s start off with saying I am probably very biased towards this movie as the makers of this movie and the actors are from last year’s Band Baaja Baraat one of the sweetest love stories of the 2000’s.
This movie is not exactly the same but many parallels do run its course. Something’s become hard to avoid, like the chemistry seems very familiar but this movie stands on its own two feet.
The movie starts off in this gorgeous house in Delhi with a very SWEET Dimple (Parineeti Chopra), this does not seem like her first movie. She embodied this “Delhi rich girl” act so easily and made it her own character, one you fall in love with instantly. I think she is beyond impressive and had a much better debut than her cousin miss PC. Let’s just say she is SUPERSTAR! I will be shocked if she is not getting offers after her role, there is definitely something wrong with casting directors if they don’t love Dimple Chadda. IMEAN CALL HER! She is endearing and loveable and seriously a Delhi girl all in all.
Here we meet her loving con boyfriend Sunny (Ranveer Singh). The Yashraj’s chocolate boy has done a fabulous job in being a clever, charming and SEXY con artist. You hate him and eventually love him and to do that all in a matter of 2 and half hours is good writing and great acting!
So not to give away the whole movie but as you can probably guess he cons this becahri Dimple and then movies to Mumbai for his next victim. Here he finds Raina Parulekar (Dipannita Sharma) seriously this girl is smart, hot and a decent actress why is still stuck on side roles? Moving on, she gets conned by Devan the art host who sells her a fake painting; which, truly no one could tell the difference between but that’s not the point. This head strong woman is than contacted by the bubbly Dimple to see if their enemies are the same. And once they realize they’re both casualties of the same schemer they decided to team up! The final entry is made an innocent Saira Rashid (Aditit Sharma) who shares her story of being ripped off by a man who fits the silhouette of this mystery man also referred to as “Bloody Kamina”
These girls get together and decide to get their money back from this con man but need a good bait to hook him on too. Comes in “Miss. I can sell you garbage if you give me the moment of your time” Ishika Desai ( Anushka Sharma). You would think that Sharma’s were on sale in wholesale thus a platter of them are in this movie but the truth is each one holds her ground very well. The conned then become the CONNERS. J and the movie unfolds in a sweet, humorous, and entertaining way that keeps you holding on hoping for more. There is no shocker in the movie where you go “OHH NO WAY” I mean a lot of the time you could guess the next move and scene but your eyes are still glued to the screen. And it’s not because your promising yourself that by this time next year you’ll either have body like Ranveer’s or Anushka’s but for the story and dialogues which are superb!
Acting wise there is a lot of talent in this movie. Looking at Anushka you realize how much growth has come in her, as an actor. To be honest I saw Rab ne Bana Di Jodi and I was like are you kidding me, this girl will not last in Bollywood long. But after BBB and Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl you wanna see her on screen. You adore her comical timings and the freshness she brings on screen. Looks wise(face wise) she is very girl next door but acting wise she’s a bombshell. And speaking of bombshells her body, WOW! Hats off to her..looking that good is not easy. She is S-E-X-Y!
Ranveer Ranveer Ranveer! What to say about this Bandra boy who has taken the industry with a storm. He’s just outstanding. His acting is impeccable his body is phenomenal he could seriously give tough competition to John Abarham’s Dostana yellow trunks pose.
From the other three characters in the movie my vote goes to Parineeti Chopra as Dimple Chadda. She’s seriously too cute and beyond talented. She is serious competition for today’s contemporary actresses including her darling cousin. She takes this movie! More than Ranveer and Anushka’s chemistry ou jsut wanna see Dimple on screen!
Music is cute and short. The movie is not over drained with songs but the ones that are there are dance numbers you will be hearing in weddings, birthdays and parties, all over in the next few week and they’ll stay around. This isn’t a surprise as Salim-Sulaiman were the boys who brought you the songs for BBB and here they are just as amazing with their catchy tunes “Thug le, Jazba and Jigar da Tukda” Very addictive!

Maneesh Sharma did a great job with direction, he started off with Ranveer and Anushka in BBB and the chemistry of this trio has spilled over in this film beautifully.

GO WATCH IT! It’s super cute! I wanna to go see it again!
If you like comedies with a brain you’ll like this movie. If you like those stupid pointless movies that go nowhere and you keep wondering how this movie was ever past the production state this is not one of those films. It’s simple, funny, sweet and it leaves you smiling.
