Hrithik Brand Ambassador for Maharashtra?

Hrithik Brand Ambassador for Maharashtra?

Two years ago, Amitabh Bachchan donned a completely new avatar, as Gujarat’s first ever brand ambassador . A few weeks ago West Bengal roped in Shah Rukh Khan as its face. And now the Maharashtra government has apparently approached Hrithik Roshan to help sell the state's sight's & sounds to tourists.

An agency hired by the government approached Hrithik a few days ago to become the state's brand ambassador. They had sent a mail to Hrithik's team which was immediately forwarded to him.

However he hasn't been able to take the final call considering his super busy schedule of Krrish 3, says a member of Hrithik’s team.

Apparently the government agency wants Hrithik to take a few days off his schedule to work on an extensive campaign for the state. They have plans to shoot a docu-flim with him in places such as Kolhapur, Mahabaleshwar, Raigad and Mumbai. Even a photo shoot has been planned. Hrithik is busy with Krrish 3 till October and its believed that Hrithik too is keen on working out his schedule to fit in the camp since he thinks it is great honour. But everything depends on the schedule. It remains to be seen how they work out the dates considering Hrithik will be busy for another four-five months.

Despite repeated attempts Hrithik remained unavailable for a comment.

Dude you are right hrithik and srk should swap places. Hrithik Roshan has a well-hidden Bengali connection which gave him his unusual first name. He was christened by his Bengali grandmother even before his birth. Hrithik was given the popular Bengali name, which means an enlightened saint, by his grandmother Ira Roshan.
"We always wanted Hrithik to live up to his name," Rakesh Roshan, whose father Roshan was from Punjab, quoted.
According to the industry grapevine, the Roshan household has always been under the "command" of matriarch Ira, "and", says mother Pinky, "hence the strong Bengali influence."

Hrithik however, can only understand Bengali unlike his father, who can also speak it fluently. Thanks to his mother Ira. The Roshan family cannot do without Bengali food. And granny Ira cooks one fish dish herself everyday. She has taught all Bengali preparations to her daughter-in-law, "but still doesn't feel satisfied until she has done it herself."

"Leave along cooking, she does not feel satisfied until she has gone to the Bengali market early in the morning to buy fresh water fish of her choice," says Pinky.

"Eating out is not for me. I love Bengali food cooked by "'Thami'" (grandmother)," Hrithik told, adding that he loves to indulge in the Bengali dish 'maach' (fish).

Ira, herself a trained singer, left Calcutta in her 20's for a career in singing with All India Radio in New Delhi. There she met the famed musician and Rakesh's father, fell in love and married Roshan, leaving her career. "My father and we brothers (Rakesh and Rajesh), my wife and son have all turned into pucca Bengalis under her influence," says Rakesh.

The calorie-conscious Hrithik says his favourite sweet is the Bengali rosogulla. "They are gorgeous. No other adjective can describe them properly. And ofcourse the best dessert in the world is 'mishti doi' (sweet yoghurt). We have to depend on friends from Calcutta. Whenever someone goes we request them to get as much as is possible for them to carry."

This Durga-Puja, which falls in early winter and is the most popular Bengali festival, Hrithik's family has got him to agree to wear the traditional Bengali attire 'dhoti kurta' being made by Calcutta's celebrity designer Sharbari Dutta. The 'kurta', a long, loose shirt, will be turquoise blue in silk and the accompanying 'dhoti', an unstiched cloth tied around the waist, is off-white. "I suggested Hrithik because of his eye colour, complexion and height," Sharbari says. There is, however, a small problem --- Hrithik does now know the art of wearing a dhoti --- and need to learn quickly.

He should become the ambassador of West Bengal instead of Maharashtra and let srk be the ambassador for maharashtra. After all, Hrithik has bengali blood in him, SRK doesn't.
Rakesh Roshan (Hrithik's dad) is half bengali. His mother Ira was a bengali who married punjabi music director Roshan. Rakesh Roshan even can speak bengali and Hrithik used to call his grandmother 'DIDA' which is bengali for dadi (paternal grandmother)
