Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has been banned from the Wankhede Stadium for five years, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Vilasrao Deshmukh announced Friday.
The development comes two days after the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders allegedly got into a fracas with MCA officials and security personnel after an Indian Premier League match with Mumbai Indians.
"MCA is forced to ban Shah Rukh Khan from entering Wankhede Stadium for five years," said Deshmukh, the union minister for science and technology.
He said nobody could support such behaviour, be it the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian Premier League (IPL) or the MCA.
"Our decision to ban Shah Rukh Khan was unanimous. There was a proposal of lifetime ban, but we want to send a message that this is not how one should behave," Deshmukh said.
He said more than 50 percent MCA officials were present at the time of brawl so there was no point in forming an interim committee to look into the incident.
Replying to allegations by the actor that his daughter was manhandled by MCA officials, Deshmukh said: "We have not received any complaint from Shah Rukh Khan yet. He is unapologetic and justified his actions."
"We have informed BCCI about the ban, but since this property belongs to MCA, we have decided on the ban," he added.

Deshmukh is a loser. Please, this is all happening to SRK only because he's a Muslim. Didn't these same people try to bring down SRK by banning My Name is Khan in India? The movie ended up becoming the highest grossing Bollywood movie overseas. Funny thing is that these losers despise the Muslim actors in Bollywood but the fact is that SRK, Aamir, Salman are India's biggest superstars. Not their Indian actors. looks like our neighbours are acting up. some racist comments like "their indian actors" confirm that. India is formed on the basis of religious freedom not on the basis of religion. In India all religions have equal rights and people who work hard make it irrespective of their religion.
First of all SRK is not banned for his religion, he is not a religious muslim at all. He is banned for abusing the stadium officials who were doing their job. They were directing, kids who were playing on stadium grounds, to go out. Manhandling Suhana is a after thought. A cover up tactic when SRK came to his senses.
If he would be banned if he was Sanjay Dutt or Abhishek or Akshay.

Forgive me if I offended anyone but I didn't mean to offend or come off racist. I have nothing against Indians. My grandparents are from India and I have many friends who are Indians. What I meant was that this action taken by Vilasrao Deshmukh against SRK was totally racist. He is one of the politicians who banned My Name is Khan in India and now he has banned SRK from the stadium knowing he owns a cricket team all because he's Muslim. If it were... let's say Abhishek Bachchan, he would have never been banned. His own son isn't even a star and can't sell movies. Again, keep trying to bring down SRK, Aamir, Salman but it isn't going to happen. They're India's biggest superstars.

Good decision. SRK is a normal human being and no god. He thinks he can treat people and friends like servants. When they are not usefull for him he pushed them away. And the spiral continues to go down...

I am not a SRK fan, but this decision is based on bias. A radical decision as such and that from a sports organisation is such a shame because when they want to bring a message that they should have followed the procedure of making such decisions to be fair... you can not make a decision when you have not heard the other side... of course everyone from your club will tell the same story but for the sake of neutrality and sports fans and for those minorities who think this is based on religion they should have discussed the matter with SRK and then came up with a decision.
Regardless of whether Shah Rukh Khan at fault or not (have not seen/heard teh clips si am not judging his involvemnet), I feel sorry for and hope that the security guard is not harmed in all this chaos. Read somewhere that he has been working at the stadium for 25 years...

One can be indian and muslim, one can be indian and hindu, one can be indian and any religion. Being indian is a nationality and your faith is your personal choice. Wankhade stadium is apparently owned by Maharashtra Shiv Siana and dont know who else..is in power these days.....they dig up pitches as they please....threaten not to let Pakistan play if they reach World Cup final...now ban SRK without any sort of hearing first... its like a mini country with a dictator.

The audio never made me feel that he was actually fighting for his kids if he had, then he would have asked the security guard to behave with kids properly or threatened him saying that he will approach the official superior to that security guard to get him fired. He is only hurling abuses at that guy.
