Now, 'Motu Patlu' comic strip in animated TV series

Evergreen comic strip "Motu Patlu", launched 42 years ago by Lotpot Comics, will now be adapted into an animated TV series titled "The Adventures of Motu Patlu".

Maya Digital Studios Pvt Ltd has struck a deal with Lotpot Comics for the show, which is likely to go on air some time during Dussehra.

Founded by A.P. Bajaj, the comic strip has remained extremely popular among kids in the age group of 4-15 years.

"The Adventures of Motu Patlu" will be about endearing adventures of two friends - Motu and Patlu - who get caught in funny situations. How in their own way they emerge out of the problems as heroes is the basic plotline of the show.

"'Motu Patlu' is pure Indian comic brand with a 42-year-old legacy. Its premise represents the cultural ethos of small town India and captures the life in the heartland of India," Ketan Mehta, chairman and managing director, Maya Digital Studios Pvt Ltd, said in a press statement.

P.K. Bajaj, editor and publisher of Lotpot Comics, said: "Finding the perfect digital partner for Motu Patlu was a challenging task. That is the reason it took us so long to digitise Lotpot comics. But now I am extremely excited and happy that Maya Digital Studios has taken over this challenging task."
