Pooja Bhatt's erotic thriller "Jism 2" is doing roaring business at the box office. It has managed to rake in an encouraging figure of Rs.21 crore in its opening weekend and "a fact that justifies that brand 'Jism' is here to stay," says the director.
"'Jism 2' has done a business of Rs.21 crore in India over the weekend (despite releasing during Ramzan). Brand 'JISM', my dears, is here to STAY," tweeted Pooja.
The film, said to be made on a budget of Rs.7 crore, features the sizzling trio of Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone, Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda.
Many expected it to be a sex-laden, skin-show affair. But according to film critics, it wasn't anything close to that, and almost everyone has been raving about Randeep's performance in the movie.
Released Aug 3, "Jism 2" is the sequel to 2003 film "Jism", which catapulted model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu's career to new heights.
"BRAND 'Jism' is not merely a film. It is a cultural war. It is an EVENT. One that divides crowds passionately and turns its actors into STARS," wrote Pooja.

I couldnt even bear the movie. It was terribly worse than any movie i have ever seen. Rather an advertisement is more interesting than Jism 2
@falling star :P if taran adarsh gave it 2 stars......wonder how the movie is :/
oops! i never noticed fiza your coments... taran gave 2stars..... so looks like i lost my bet, isnt it? :P
as far as the reviews i have read/seen are conserned......this movie SUCKS badly!
btw what masand said?...... but i want to know what taran adarsh said... i can bet he has given it 3.5 or 3 stars by saying something like "sunny's acting was fabulous as a new comer and the movie was slow but engaging....blah blah... overall it is a onetime watch" his reviews are as silly as his knowledge of films.
@mystic rose, i agree with you. Masand's review was quite a laugh and a rather descriptive one. Sorry, Sunny and her chemisty or a lack thereof with both Randeep and Arunoday failed to create the magic that John and Bipasha did.
not good
Yea, the film is bad and the acting is non-existent. But that's the case with 99% of Hindi films which are pure garbage.
Rajeev Masand's review was hilarious, he truely grasped the essense of how bad this film really was. Randeep Hooda is so above this! He has the potential to be the next Arjun Rampal, he might even surpass Arjun if he plays his cards right. Sunny Leone needs to learn how to act, just because Sasha Grey can somehow hack it doesn't mean every adult film actress can. Arunoday Singh needs to disappear. Pooja Bhatt needs to STOP directing and go in retirement. In Jism 1, Bipasha and John were on fire, this is not even in the same league.
If u click the links I added with the reviews, u will notice the critics even mentioned HOW FAR Jism 2 IS FROM Jism 1!!
it's a shame that movies like Housefull 2 & Jism 2 are doing so well! Btw, its just my opinion! Plz dnt defend me. If u have something different to say, then express ur opinions nicely.
I have to say tht from reviews, we all can understand that Randeep did so well! Congrats to him, he is a good looking guy with acting skills, I hope his acting does not get wasted in SUCH movies.
Congrats to Randeep Hooda!!!! Sunny Leone, They wrote "EXACTLY" what I expected! I did not watch the movie! & I never will :P :P
This is what Rajeev Masand had to say -
The film’s chief conceit – you’re meant to be guessing until the end whose side Izna is actually on – is betrayed by Sunny Leone’s wooden acting, and her overuse of the ‘heaving bosom’ approach in response to every situation in the film, be it joyous, distressing, or romantic. Predictably, she’s uninhibited in the sex scenes, but can’t muster up any real feeling.
The usually dependable Randeep Hooda, meanwhile, goes a little overboard with all the feeling.

This is what Taran Adarsh said and rated it with 2 stars -
Despite Sunny and the hype adjoining her, Randeep enacts a pivotal character with aplomb. In fact, Randeep has lucratively carved a niche for himself, creating a space of his own with films like ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, SAHEB BIWI AUR GANGSTER and JANNAT 2. He pitches in another striking act in JISM 2. Arunoday tries hard, but is not convincing enough. Also, he is awfully awkward and ill at ease in sequences that require him to breakdown emotionally.

Hindustan Times -
"Sunny Leone can barely act. Most of her scenes involve heaving to accentuate her ample bosoms: either pining/worrying for Kabir or in some erotic scene. The tough-officer-in-love does not suit Arunoday Singh and he ends up with unintentionally funny expressions on his face in the emotional scenes. Randeep Hooda is quite good as Kabir, but he mouths too many dialogues through grit-teeth. Arif Zakaria is a joke as Arunoday’s superior," writes Devi.

- Hooda is the only actor who has some material to show off some acting, and he tries.
- To the censored, sexless cut, add a dull story, poor performances, tacky dialogues and ordinary visuals, and heap that up with some facile philosophizing about love, terrorism and betrayal.
- Leone, as expected, is defined by her hemlines and cleavage. Singh and Zakaria are high-pitched and melodramatic, as the roles require them to be.
- Jism 2 will unintentionally extract laughs. At the theatre, the college students created a riot of laughter and the middle-aged men looked deadpan at the screen, realizing they hadn’t got what they came for: some sex scenes.

Alternating clunkily between melancholic and hyper, Hooda constructs a wildly implausible character that inspires most of the unintended laughs in this film.

Nothing succeeds like success! So Pooja bhatt can scream anything now.
It had such a bad storyline and poor acting. Morale of the boxoffice reports are that sex sells.
I want to watch it to see what the story is and to watch Randeep as I have always found him sexy but I cannot stand Sunny.
Go Randeep Hooda Go! Finally a guy who can act in both mainstream & niche cinema, is sexy, hot, tall, dark, built & handsome, plus at the same time can be macho & an action star, one for the ladies & the men, intelligent yet humble, for those with & without a brain and he's not a star kid.
Finally one to root for!
Totally agree how hot is randeep such a good actor hes truely a sex symbol with great acting abilities i am really really hoping he can make it mega mega big just like him...wink wink!

I would agree with this if he would STOP shaving everything off! It does not look hot at all. A little hair on a man is very sexy.
Good for Sunny, we'll probably see more of her in B-TOWN

-----------------------------Totally agree! He's beyond AWESOME in Jism 2. His dialogue delivery, his intense, brooding good looks.....WOW! Finally some good has come out of this film....so many have noticed what a talented guy he is! Kudos Randeep.....i'm a fan forever!
That is actually a good number for a movielike this lots of epople actually went to watch it
so it wasn't "sex-laden, skin-show affair"? I read many other reviews saying it was just that. maybe the critics were all men...
Next thing u know she is working with Salman khan in YRf
Sigh...India is a sex-starved nation!
100cr say hello to JISM. At this point, any film that has flopped this year should go and hide its face.
