Priyanka Chopra fulfils dad's dream with music debut

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who made her international music debut Thursday with the unveiling of the single "In My City" featuring Will.i.am., said she has fulfilled her father's dream of becoming a singer.

"My parents got emotional when they heard the song. This was my dad's dream. It was my father's dream and he has come all dressed up and looking dapper today. My father is an incredible singer. I am happy my family, friends and everyone are here," Priyanka told reporters during the unveiling of her music single.

Actress and former Miss World Yukta Mookhey has filed a complaint of domestic violence against her husband Prince Tulli at a police station here, an official said Thursday.

"Based on her claims, a non-cognizable offence has been registered. She claimed that her husband had abused her and beaten her up often," said an official from Amboli Police Station in northwest Mumbai said.

Officials, however, refused to give further details and said that they have registered only an offence and there is no FIR registered in the case yet.

Actor Vinay Pathak is upset about reading and writing books having taken a backseat in this day and age.

"Writing has dipped these days, only films and television serials are being made. But I believe that writing literature is very important and people should not lose their manners to read," Vinay said here Wednesday at the launch of writer Minty Tejpal's book "The Last Love Letter".

Vinay, who is an avid reader and dabbles in theatre too, says he is thankful to Tejpal for deciding to write a book even when there are lot of other things he can do.
