Director Vivek Agnihotri says it was filmaker Vikram Bhatt who inspired him to make "Freedom".
"Freedom" is a socio-political saga set in the backdrop of 1970s to 2000s. It features Salman Yusuf Khan in the lead.
"I always wanted to make 'Freedom', but I had to drop the idea due to financial crisis. I would have never made an erotic thriller like 'Hate Story' if I had finance for 'Freedom'. Vikram gave me 'Hate Story' as a challenge. Apart from Vikram, one of my friends also encouraged me to make a film on this subject," Agnihotri told IANS.
Actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva, whose action directorials "Wanted" and "Rowdy Rathore" turned out to be box office successes, says he was happy when he was offered to helm a love story like "Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya".
He has thanked producer Kumar Taurani of Tips Industries Ltd. for offering him a love story at a time when all producers wanted him to make action films.
"Actually thanks to Tips as everybody wanted me to do an action movie, and they gave me the opportunity to make a love story," Prabhudheva said at the film's music launch here Wednesday.
After being selected for screening at the Cannes International Film Festival and Shanghai International Film Festival, S.S. Rajamouli's Telugu revenge-drama "Eega" will also be featured at the Madrid International Film Festival and Puchon International Film Festival.
At the Madrid fest, the movie is nominated in six award categories.
Model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal, who is on the cover of tech and lifestyle magazine Exhibit, admits he is a complete gizmo and gadget freak.
"I personally am a gizmo freak and love to be updated with the latest gadget and technology launched in the tinsel town," Arjun said in a candid chat during the cover shoot, a statement said.
He posed for the eighth anniversary edition's cover of the magazine.
Actress Swara Bhaskar believes her survival kit, primarily comprising her friends and family, helps her sail through the ups and downs in her showbiz career.
"Friends who make fun of all my problems, however serious, family that bails me out every time, three furry cats of three different sizes, children’s literature...," Swara told IANS on being asked about her survival kit.
